Getting ready to install the MAFT-Pro this week, but I have one question. What is up with this gianormous air temp sensor? Where on earth am I supposed to find a 3/8 NPT aluminum bung? I'd screw it right into my alum. Y pipe, but I dont know if it'd hold or be leak free. Couldn't you find a smaller GM temp sensor to supply with the speed-density kits?

We looked high and low. The smaller ones push into a grommet (not good for boost...)
Generally, all GM air temp sensors are the same. If you can find a smaller one, I'm sure it would work fine........ Bob |

Where/how are people mounting the IAT's? It should go before the TB, correct? Tho it would be easier to drill/tap the plenum, even for 3/8 NPT. Also, does the MAP sensor have to have it's own vacuum line to the plenum, or could it tap into the same hose as a boost gauge?

experience has shown that tapping the manifold leads to excessive heat soak issues. Put it in the Y pipe. Actually, for now, putting it near the air filter works decently. There are some issues with this, but nothing insurmountable. What kind of intercooler do you have?
For the MAP sensor you want a clean vaccum source from near the throttle body. The Fuel pressure regulator signal works, as does the BOV vacuum signal. Bob |

Hmm, putting near the air filters WOULD be a ton easier. Currently, I have DSM SMIC's, but as soon as the roll cage is done, an Ebay FMIC will be going in. Would it greatly affect it if I'm using 2 air filters, one to each turbo? Both air filters are stuffed in where the stock airbox used to be. Or could I just zip-tie the sensor to something and have it sitting near/between the 2 air filters? I just need to get the car running with a half decent tune, so I can drive it to where I'm getting the roll cage done.

zip tie it near the filters.
basically, if your using SMICs they don't really cool all that well. So they saturate to the temperature entering the filters. They then maintain this temperature for short to medium length blasts. after that your intake temps will be higher than the air temperature sensor reads which will make the mixture a little richer (not a bad thing). It works decently. Bob |

Working decently is all I'm looking for right now. No fancy boost control, timing control, or AFR trackings for now. Start, good idle, and no falling on its face or knock up to ~10 psi will make me happy till alot of other work is done.
