Regardless of which boomslang harness I use or if I splice into the stock harness, I still have to understand the connections into the Maftpro and what signals it uses and modifies in AFC mode and in speed density. So, I still need confirmation on my description of the connections above.

In this mode, factory IAT and Baro sensors still go directly to ECU and do not get intercepted. This is the initial mode I want to run in, so the boomslang harness should have a cut MAF signal line with sensor side to maftpro and ecu side to maftpro output. Boomslang harness should also have the rpm, tps, +12V and grnd signals tapped into.

Speed density: Same as AFC mode, but MAF signal gets completely removed and therefore not input into maftpro. Factory IAT and Baro sensor lines get cut. Factory sensor signals do not get fed into Maftpro. Aftermarket IAT and Baro sensor signals get input to maftpro through generic speed density harness. ECU side of IAT and baro signal lines should be connected to the maftpro.

So, I should buy a boomslang harness designed for AFC mode with the connections listed in my AFC mode description above. To convert to speed density from AFC configuration I would: disconnect the factory maf, cut the baro and IAT lines on the boomslang harness, do nothing with the sensor side of the harness, connect the ECU side of the harness to the Vout terminals on the maft pro, then connect the aftermarket IAT and Baro sensors to the maftpro with the universal speed density harness.

Does this sound correct? The confusing part is how factory IAT and baro sensors get used. In AFC I want to be certain my understanding is correct that they go directly to the ECU with no MAFTpro intervention. In speed density I want to confirm my understanding that the factory sensors get disconnected, aftermarket sensors are hooked to the maftpro, and the maftpro then outputs corrected IAT and baro signals to the ECU.

This is correct, if you're using the generic MAFT-Pro Harness for speed density. You can buy the 3/s harness instead which saves you from routing wires from your engine bay to the translator. Basically, you unplug the MAF, then plug this harness (which is connected to your two new sensors) into the now unused MAF plug. You then go to the ECU and intercept the wires that used to be MAF signal and IAT signal and they are now the new sensor's Pressure and Temperature signal. These go into the MAFT-PRO and the unit outputs a MAF signal, pressure, and corrected temperature to the ECU.

Since I don't believe everyone here follows www.fullthrottletech.com, I'm posting this here as well:

This utility allows you to input your current user tune (hi,mid, low and tune points) along with the VE map that your using to produce a 'corrected' VE Map. This allows you to zero out your user tune, help gain familiarity with the VE Map and how your user tune effects it.. Sheet 1 is the working sheet, Sheet 2 is the 3-D visual of the 'corrected VE Map', Sheet three is a quick 'how-to'. You need Microsoft Excel for this utility to work.

You need Microsoft Excel to run this (select disable macros, it won't effect anything). This should work fine, however as with any normal tuning keep a watchfull eye on your AFRs.

VE MAP Utility

Here is the thread on fullthrottletech:

Let me know what you guys think. I respond quicker on www.fullthrottletech.com, but do check here as well.

bob i recently hooked up the WOT tracking again and my car was close to 11.0 (like 11.2-10.8) before i turned the WOT tracking on. I now have WOT to 11.0 and gain set to 26.0, tps to 2.500 and not to start untill after 3000rpms, and now my car will not move off 10.0.

i was adding fuel in the high tune mode and now im pulling like -15% and it doesnt do anything its still stuck on 10.0

-Hey guys got my car running and kinda driving.. I need some advice.. idle sets about 14-15, (at idle) if I touch the gas it revs up and then falls to about 400rpm (dies 1/2 the time), after the car drives for a bit I can come back to an idle and my af is about 17-18. -Inbetween shifts it dies.
-my cruze (light throttle) sets about 14.5 - 15.2 and it is like decel happens the instant the throttle is let off. on average my af is 17-19.
-If I go into boost it will hit about 15.5 before it richens up and goes to about 12-13.
-Also the maft-pro sometimes does not boot up??? When I turn on the car there is nothing on the screen. It takes a couple of power cycles to get the display working again.
-I am new to this system but as far as the tunning (low, med,hi) it is not much diffrent from an afc (Have tuned with an afc for a while now)

Anyways if you guys have any tips let me know.

-Matt
