Marc
the maftpro will only see the aem reading which im suspecting (at this point in time ) is in accurate.
the miragecorp will see what the ecu is seeing from the lamda sensors.

assuming the MOT stations equipment is accurate, what else do i have to go by.

by the way tunerpro sees the aem input as even further out at about 16.

so we have the mot station reading 13.80-14 the aem reading 15-15.5 and the maftpro seeing 16-16.8 from the aem input.

am i the only one seeing this. I know others have seen a variation between what the aem displays and what the maftpro displays but has anyone else noticed the aem may also be reporting inaccurately.

ive only seen this today when the crypton exhaust gas analyser showed different results to my aem

Tuner-pro and maft-pro reading differently is weird.

if you didn't tap the AEM wires AT THE GAUGE/CONTROLLER, then MAFT-pro and AEM will read different from each other, but tuner-pro and maft-pro should read same. something isn't right somewhere.

I got a weird error when trying to update the maft pro to the 4.8.

I have my usb to serial connected properly and it's set to com 1. It's the same type that turbobob used so I know it works. I load it holding down the two left buttons when the update software tells me too. It shows that it connects to the maft pro then says config break sent count " # " the " # " is a number starting with 1 and keeps counting up and did so for about 10 min before I shut it down. I let it get to 1000 or something like that. I repeated this several times. The instructions said that after the software connects it should ask "are you sure you want to update the maft" I didn't get that message.

Ideas?

Highboosted, i didnt say that tunerrtpro read differently to the maftpro, where in my post do you think i implied that.

the crypton reads differntly to the aem and the aem reads different to the maftpro.

i here what you say about the earthing, im going to check that.

smurfmodsvr4

no idea.... i use a genuine serial port

What does your wideband say when you leave it in gear and coast or turn key-on (not start it) after car has been sitting for several hours? Mine says 22.3. Air has a known oxygen content so I'm curious if your sensor is off then too.

I just bought a separate gauge and grounding the wires with the maf-t wire made the reading off by a certain amount and grounding separate the reading was still off but closer to the one shown on the maf-t. So I just changed the output for my wideband aux signal and now they match. I assume the one shown in the maf-t was correct because it shows 22.3 in air. Not sure why I couldn't get them to match originally, probably the wiring though since it changes depending on how it's grounded.

I lack reading comprehension.

My wideband says --- with key on/engine off. Reads --- while coasting/injectors off, also. I'm using the AEM UGEO gauge wideband. The AEM's lack the calibration feature that the innovate ones come with, so unless you have 2 widebands you can't check them with each other.

damn, I tried a real serial port and got the same error. put up a post on the maft pro forums and they sugested a wrong com port. But I am sure it's set to the right one. I checked the update bat and verified it's the same com port # as the real com port.

I hope turbobob hops in sometime. I'm having a real bad time with this maft pro so far. Need some TLC to get me through this.

try unplugging the 6 pin harness when you update. Try unplugging whetever else is convenient. The communications use the same internal voltage sources as the analog section, and if its overloaded (install issue...) it will mess with the communication.

The current pro's don't need the buttons held when updating.

I use the update procedure to program them when they are built, so it will work. We just need to find out whats up.

I got it working. I used a 3rd machine with a real serial port and changed serial cables. Not sure what the real culprit was but the important thing is that it worked. Got the 4.8 on there and updated with the ukspec settings. He had his set up for boost control and timing but I don't have either of those right now so I just need to dig in and figure out what to change. I am not sure I want to deal with learning timing just yet. Still learning the pro. Either way, I should be able to run the 4.8 without timing right?

Thanks for stopping in turbobob. Great job keeping the software updated. Check back every now and then, I'm sure we'll need ya again soon. Looking forward to the docs for the 4.8 version. The menus have some different wording for some things... so hopefully docs will help me a little.

I can't get the 480.bat file to run. It wants to use com1. I remember when I updated to 4.40 there were several bat files to choose from. With 4.80 I don't see any other bat files. Any advice?

After first opening the file...

" Warning: cannot get defalt comm config
can't open serial port

press any key to continue... "
