Since I don't have a wideband yet can I monitor/use the stock O2 sensors wired into the maft pro? I was hoping to used the stockers to set a target AFR.

I didn't know which inputs to use on the maft pro for that. On stealth316.com it shows the O2 sensor pins are 55 & 56. Also since there are 2 stock ones how would that work? Can it log those too? If not will I need a palm style logger instead?

*really need some info on this quick. I will be finishing the install after work tommorow and yanking the safc II*

narrowbands are too inaccurate to use for AFR tracking. Yes it can log the o2, but it will not use them for tracking.

Just didn't know how to do it since there where 2 O2's and what looked like only one input which is used for wideband. Should I just use the rear O2 sensor if I want to log?

Turbobob said I can tune using the trims. I assumed trims meant the AFR number. With no logger or wideband I wasn't sure how to do that. So I thought maybe use the Maft Pro for it.

Who knows... I may get everything hooked up and it might run like a champ. I suppose my only choice is to do the 3s quick setup and set everything up for my 550's and see what happens. From what I've been reading the speed density setup is fairly forgiving.

O2 trim generally indicated how you are tuned. The main trims (high, mid, low) adjust slowly depending on what's happening with the O2 trim. The O2 trim reacts immediately.

There is no need to wire up the narrowband as it already connected to the ECU. It should just run as is, but PT tracking will not work. Run it as is for a while until you have the wideband.
Looks like my last log didn't make it in, so here it is.

trim's are your ECU's compensation. On your logger (you DO have one, right?), you'll find low, med, and high trim, and o2 trim. o2 trim will tell you how much fuel the ECU is pulling or adding right now to achieve shoich, and the other trims are how much the ECU thinks it should pull or add to keep stoich and o2 trim centered (o2 trim moves fast, low trim not as fast, high trim takes a while to change). You tune by using the trims and keeping them close to 100 (or some will say 81 or something because thats what their car likes). You do not hook any of the o2's to your maft-pro because your ECU needs them.

once you get your wideband this changes and you get to live with the CEL, but you will be happier, lol.

I would not tune without some sort of logger. You need to watch knock, O2's and trims.

Loggers are cheap, you should get one soon (before the wideband...)

I have a logger (Scanmaster) and wideband (LM1) permanently installed in both my cars...

Yeah, I pretty much figured you guys would say that.. and you are all right. I need a logger. I am sure it would make all this a lot easier.

Where would you recommend I get the logger cable? A palm is no trouble to get, just need the cable and software right?

Edit: I got an offer from a board member for a cable and purchased it already.. I'll pick up a palm and I should be good to go.

I'm sure you know this, but get an older palm unit (I use Sony's...) and get a serial sync cable as well.

There are (for some brands) "Y style" sync cables that are USB and serial. I have never gotten mine to work properly, so stick with the regular serial sync cable.....

Right, I think i have found my issue. As soon as PT Tracking kicks in, my AFRs go nuts. The gain is set to 15 at the moment, and maybe this is to high. No matter where I put fuel in now, the car will go very lean as soon as I am cruising, and then become richer, and then plunge back into leanness again. Do I have my limits to low? Or gain to high?

Idle RPM = 1200
Idle TPS = 0.70
Idle AFR = 14.7
Cruise RPM = 2080
Cruise TPS = 1.5
Cruise MAP = 70
Cruise AFR = 14.7
Lean AFR = 16.0

Also, how many Non-turbos are there using this? I feel like the only one, as the turbo cars all seem ok, but my little NA is having horrible driving issues from the off.
It is also worth noting that all the UK cars run of 99 RON fuel, not the standard 95 RON we usually use.
