I still have 2 question:

1. When using it as a AFC, are the follwing settings correct for AFC use?

AIRFLOW SOURCE: 10 AFC or translator
F-OUT MODE: 0=AFC mode
F-IN MODE: 33 = 2G DSM, 3000GT/Stealth (OFF)

2. I am not 100% sure I wired the IAT sensor correctly, First I cut off the IAT wires from the MAF (under the hood) and I wired the GM IAT sensor like this

Next I modified the IAT wiring by the ECU so the MAFT Pro can adjust the signal the ECU sees, like this

2. I am not sure I wired the IAT sensor correctly, Right now I have just cut the wires at the MAF. The ECU now sees the GM IAT signal all the time. It look s like I still need to cut the AIT wires at the ECU so that the ECU sees the IAT signal from the MAFT PRo and the MAFT Pro sees the GM IAT sensor, Correct?[/quote]

1. F-Out mode == 0 enables AFC mode. The F-In mode stuff is there if you want to log a stock MAF installed.

2. You can run it either way. In AFC mode, you want the ECU to see a temp sensor. The GM sensor is close enough to a Mitsu one, it should work ok. If you want to run the sensor thru the Pro, there is a way to configure the V-Out mode to send the IAT sensor data thru.

I am trying to use it as a AFC but I have something wrong.
I am getting cel code 12, which is airflow sensor, I checked and the ECU is not getting any htz signal at all from the MAF according a datalogger and according to FI reading in MAFTPRO. It think it is a wiring problem but I need a break from messing with it right now.

The wires look like they are connected correctly but I will have to get a voltmeter out to make sure the connections are good.

Is there any settings I could have wrong that would prevent the MAFtpro from reading the stock MAF signal?

My settings are

VEHICLE SEL: 0
# OF CYL: 6 (number of cylinders of the engine)
AIRFLOW SOURCE: 10... I also tried 11 but it didn't make a difference
MAP SOURCE: 0 = GM 3 bar sensor
DENS SRCE: 0
BARO MODE: 1
F-OUT MODE: 0=AFC mode
V-OUT1 MODE: 0
V-OUT2 MODE: 0
AFR SOURCE: 0=none
F-IN MODE: 33 ( I also verified the internal jumper was on the RH 2 pegs)
AUX1 MODE: 0

MAINSCALE: 0 I am using stock injectors right now

V-OUT1 SET: 2.5
V-OUT2 SET: 4.0
AFTERSTART: 0.00
LO LOAD POINT: 36.4
MID LOAD POINT: 100.1
HIGH LOAD POINT: 143
F OUT MAX: 0
TM BASE: 0.00
TM CORRECT: 1.27
AF TRDELAY: 0

TPS ENRICH: .50
TPS DECAY: .80
TB SIZE: 7
MAP ENRICH: 0.4
MAP DECAY: .80
MAP TPSMIN: 0.400

Its been a fun day
When I hooked everything up I smelled smoke and saw that my TechEdge wideband controller box was shorting out, I didn't touch the wiring to it so it must have gotten bumped during install, it's junk now, I could see smoke coming out of the housing and it stunk like crap. Luckily I got a LC1 wideband with my MAFT-pro, I really wanted the sell the TechEdge for a few bucks

Just a couple questions, I have the Gen II but it looks to be the same as far as installation goes. For the Engine Speed CAS sensor it states to connect it to wire 69 (blue/white) but I noticed in the diagram in this post it shows it to connect to wire 101 which in my harness (92 VR4) it is solid white. Is this correct? I originally had it where the manual stated and it runs fine but I can't seem to keep the A/F ratio steady at idle. I don't have a wideband but when the engine is warmed up the sensor reading fluctuates from .8 to .1 without any pressing of the throttle. I've adjusted the mainscale but it seems to not do very much at idle. I've driven it a couple times and it runs rich but right now I'm just concerned with the above mentioned items. I am running 450cc injectors and a walbro 255lph pump with the relay mod. I also disconnected the wire connecting to the CAS and changed it to wire 101 and it doesn't seem to change the situation but I haven't driven it yet that way. Oh, and I'm using the stock maf. Thanks

On the Gen-II you can either use the tach signal or the CAS. As long as the RPM reads correctly on the Gen-II it will work fine.

With a hotwired walbro you are probably overrunning the regulator at idle. The ECU will ignore the MAF signal and just run off internal tables if the mixture is too far out. You need to drive it some and get the trims in line. Tune the Mainscale so that at a steady cruise you have a O2 trim of 80-100, and this will make your other trims settle to around 80 (which is fine), then tune from there. When the O2 stops toggling at idle you may have to rev the engine to get the ECU to try again.

I fixed my problem with the MAFT-Pro not seeing the MAF signal, I just switched to speed density and quit trying to screw with using it as a AFC

I also created a WIKIPEDIA entry on how to wire the LC1 wideband to the MAFT Pro

I have wired them that way, it works fine. But I currently recommend this:

If you'd like the drawing file, I can send it.
