(THIS IS QUICK VR4)
TurboBob I need your help ASAP. My car runs pig rich to the point where it wont idle. I traced it back to my map sensor reading 94 at key on (car off). Does this mean my map sensor is bad? the reading does change when I blow or suck through it. ive ran through the setup a million times and its setup properly. This randomly started happening at the same time my ECU caught on fire I guess. ECU's been replaced but problem still exists. maftpro wiring is perfect, circuit board looks good. Also my pw is in the upper 20's at idle, I guess because my airflow is 157hz. I'm stranded in las vegas 300 miles from home... help pleeeeeeease

94 with the engine off is ok.

Look at
FO
UT
VE
RPM
TPS
AFL
What is your MP reading with the engine running?

what version are you running?

well I cannot get the engine running. version 4.63. My cars pulswidth goes up the roof. The airflow signal is also at 157hz at idle which i believe is way too high. I am running 550 injectors and a correction of -40. I can't get those other values for you because the engine does not idle. Just dumps mad fuel.

unplug the harness from the MAP sensor. The airflow calculation in the Pro should go to almost 0.

If the hose on the MAP sensor is not connected to a proper vacuum source, then you will get this kind of thing.

the injector opening and closing times have a large effect on the pulsewidths at part throttle and idle. This is most likely the reason.

Different mechanical technologies react very differently

680 = Delphi/Rochester
550 = Denso

EDIT: This can't be the problem, but I'llleave my post anyways

My autometer gauge has a map sensor that recalibrates every time the power is turned on, The normal ignition power turns off for a second when the starter is on.
This made my autometer boost gauge calibrate while the engine was starting so it was wildly inaccurate. I rewired it to the ECU power supply and the problem went away.

I am am not sure if the GM MAP sensor works the same way but it does look just like the Autometer gauge.

I had a boost control problem that was driving me nuts, until I realized I wired it wrong.

The Pro and MAP sensor are powered by ECU power, and don't shut off during cranking.

The autometer recalibrates because its a stepper motor mechanism, and at power-up it doesn't know which way the needle is pointing.

The Pro can be set to capture MAP at power-up to compensate its boost calculation, this doesn't affect the fueling calculations. The MAP sensor is an absolute sensor, and has no calibration requirement.

If the vacuum feed to his sensor is bad, he will have this issue.

I was going to get an emange Ultimate but the one reason I bought Darlkhelmet's MAFT Pro is that I know that TurboBob will support it. I also love my scanmaster.

One of the things I hated about the MAP ECU is that its is almost impossible to get any support from the manufacturer.

Did Boomslang give any idea when they were going to make a MAFT pro plug and play harness?

There generic jumper harness is only $99 so I was going to get that and just make all the connections myself, but It would be worth a little extra to have it plug and play, less likely for a bad connection too.

I alos consider getting a SAFC or Emanage harness and just cutting the ends off and crimping on the MAFT pro connectors, the only thing I really gain is the nice colored wires and a few less crimps
