I was reading rustangcobra's install and was wondering what the benefit of removing the ECU is.

don't need to unless you have large hands and can't get the connectors out. I also disconnected my neg battery term to make sure not to short anything out.

if i were to buy this and only this as far as wideband o2, would i be able to connect if to the maftpro?

if i have a egt guage, is it necesary to have something that reads out the wideband? (dataloging through maftpro should show wideband readouts, correct?)

No, you need a brain box. Either the LM1, LC1, PLX or AEM. The sensor is not enough for the MAFTpro to use. The brainbox has to do the conversion to 0-5V on some sort of scale and then you can use the wideband.

richard, get the LC1 from innovate

It doesnt have a display or anything, but you just hook it into the MAFTPro and that'll show it and log it as well

I just got the LC1 from 3sx, its only $189, thats a hell of a deal for wideband

Full throttle carries all that stuff in stock as well.

The XD1 is an extremely nice gauge, I have it in my GN. It is slightly larger than my other 52mm gauges, but I really like it.

The Pro both logs and tunes with the wideband. All logging with the Pro is done with a laptop at the moment.

it just gives you a ton more room to make splices, cut wires, crimp on terminals and stuff

its so easy to do, theres no reason not to take it out IMO, it also gives you a chance to check for leaky caps

bob, i have a feeling my rear o2 sensor is done, so my cars trims are all pinned at 81 and my 02trim never goes near to 100, let alone over it

thanks for the ECU removal answers.

one more question, which wires on my LC-1 do I hook up to the maftpro. this wideband has a lot of choices for wires, I'm not sure which to use.
