Wow.. I can't get more than 15mpg no matter what I do.

I've been considering swapping the coil pack.. that may have something to do with it.

How heavy is your right foot? Anyone that knows me can tell you that I will do everything in my power to eek that extra mile out of a gallon of gas so long as it does not negate itself in outside costs. I've ran literally thousands of miles in various cars trying to find happy spots in each for the best fuel economy. My crowning achievement was getting 5mpg more out of gatecrashers DD than he could.

Weren't you the one that was telling me your car was happy lugging around at like 1500rpm? I am never below 2K, and my highway cruising is 2500rpm. Our motors are very happy and very, very efficient in that part of the powerband. I honestly believe I get better mileage at 2200 rpm than you are at 1500 due to engine load and VE.

I did an experiment once.. For an entire tank I drove like a granny.. As light as possible.. I got 250 miles out of a tank..

Tuning, playing with it, stoplight to stoplight driving, WOT pulls here and there.. 225 average.

I do have a feeling that my coil pack could use to be replaced.. I just ordered one from Rockville. It's the only weak link left.. so.. we will see what happens.

After fixing all the odd issues with my car I was touching 400 miles per tank (500cc injectors).. Now with my 560cc injectors and my base timing retarded 10+ degrees I am down to 350 miles per tank - still happy with that.

I drive it pretty hard

(this is maft)

I used to get 25+ mpg on average with 450's and 9b's and I drove HEAVY everywhere.

I have not been able to tune well enough yet with taking my car down every other day how it stands right now to get a good reading with AFR tracking.

Wow on some of you guy's gas mileage. My best is 20.7 and worst is 11.7, over the past 5 years average of 15.6, this year average 14.0. Thats from stock to now. I'm on my first tank with the part throttle tracking though so I'm anxious to see what I get.

But that's what I'm saying, it's not.

When I drove an entire tank on the freeway mainly and keeping it around 2k and not getting on it barely at all.. I only got 250 miles.

That just doesn't sound right at all. I would definatly check for a leaky injector or just a real bad tune. I drive my car hard around town and still manager over 250 miles city driving with lots of WOT.

I realized today as I got over 100 miles on 1/4 tank.. WITH NO A/C on..

that was the difference.. duh.

Summertime in Florida with the A/C on all day and WOt around town will get you 225 to a tank quickly
