OK..

Just received my Pro in the mail today.. w00t!

1) Damn this case is huge.. I was hoping it would be compact enough to mount under my stereo but this thing is the size of a 1970's RCA tv remote.. ouch.. Where are you guys mounting this thing out of curiosity?

2) IAT sensor.. I have a DN polished Y-pipe that I'll be using for my speed density setup.. Where and how is the best place to mount this sucker? Tap the y-pipe with some threads say.. under the elbow?

congrats.

I put the mitsu din pocket under my stereo, and it slides into that just perfectly.
I need to poke a hole in the back of the pocket and run the wiring thru, then it will be perfect.

My IAT is on the side of the y pipe, near the battery.

What is the best way to mount it? Tap it with 3/8 threads?

the pipe is probably a bit thin, you should use a bung.....

That said, I tapped an oil pan years ago (turbo on my Impala SS....), we made the hole using a series of metal punches so the hole bent inward a lot and gave us meat to cut with the tap......

But a bung is best. On my car we tapped the plastic Y pipe, then reinforced it by putting a couple hose clamps near the hole to prevent it from splitting.....

True.. But it's nice stainless steel.. welding a bung would be pretty nasty.. Someone mentioned drilling a hole and then putting a nut on the inside somehow, but I have nightmares of it coming loose under full boost and sucking into the engine.. Threadlock? Once I puncture the y-pipe it's really only good for speed density use anyway.. maybe some JB weld or something.. hmmm..

For now you can mount the IAT near the air filter. It works decently there.

Then plan the Y-pipe mods in the future.

You could look for a place on the bottom of the Y-pipe, so any bung/weld would not be visible.....
