You'll run 14.7 at idle/cruise because you're running off the O2's and the ECU is forcing it. When you go WOT you take the O2's out of the loop and run on preset maps. You need to start pulling fuel on the top end.

not sure, I'll check, whatever version came with it, the lowest version I imagine cause I've had it for a while.

I'm using afr tracking at wot, but would pulling fuel on the high load tables help me?

*edit*

my mainscale is at -46%

400 rpm and 800 rpm on low load is -5%

thats it, no other correction

what are your trims?

In AFC mode the stock MAF is factored by the total tune value (UT on the sensor display) and sent to the ECU, nothing tricky. The Correction Factor (CF) is calculated based on the wideband and factored into the output signal when wideband tracking is turned on.

Generally you want the base tune reasonably close and let the tracking handle the last few %. So turn the tracking off, and get the tune close.

turn the boost down some and get the WOT stuff under control. Log some heavy part throttle stuff and WOT (ECU logs) and see what's up.

all of my trims are at 81.2
and this is even after resetting the ecu, it takes no time for them to go from 100 back down to 81.2

how do I turn afr tracking off? prolly a stupid question but I don't recall seeing how

Both my cars ran trims of 81 when stock. Watch the O2 trim as well. I tune for main trims of 81, and an o2 trim of 80-90

AFR tracking can be disabled by setting the TPS threshold above your max tps, or setting the RPM or MAP thresholds above where you are running the car. There is no specific disable (should probably put one in.....)

ok I'll do that

my o2 trim usually runs around 60% or so on just cruising throttle

I'll check into tuning without afr for the next few days and see what I can do

Sorry for the delay, there are some loose ends in the intermediate version of the software I wanted to clean up. Good stuff, you'll see... I'm going to try to have it done this week.

I'm assuming that will include advancing as well as retarding timing?

Terry

Actually I was working on a few things, advancing was last on the list, but I'll try to get that in too.

I'm sorry its taking so long, its been crazy this year. It will be worth the wait though.

Ok, here's what's in the next intermediate/preliminary version. There is still some clean-up work to do, but the bulk of the work is done.

Spark control +5/-10 degrees. Full time (like an ITC), once you are above 1000 RPM.
Setting points 2000,2500,3000,.......8000
This will work on Supra's also, with a different wiring change.

Part Throttle AF tracking using the wideband. I'm still tweaking it, but it works pretty darn well. I unplug my O2 sensors, and let this do the work. I set idle at 14.0, cruise at 14.7, and lean cruise at 16.0......

Selectable VE tables, the standard default (my GN) is still in there, but you can select #2, which is my 3S table.... You can still upload to it, if you want, that part is the same.

Config page is now all text labels for configuration, no more cryptic code numbers......

The "hold the button for 10 sec to get to the settings and config pages" stuff is gone.

Now, I don't have the XDF, or ADS files ready, but the 4.60 files still work ok for now...

I need to mail out the wiring to those guys that PM'd me the addresses. I will get the files posted real quick here.

Here is what you guys need to do. (in this order)

Update to the new version, and get it running well in the standard configuration. Be sure all your connections are good, or just solder everything.

Get the software configured for direct spark control (Set vehicle select to 2)
set the Spark advance tables for 0 at every point (both WOT and AUX)

Then add the wire to the harness. I am sending the wire and an extra 8-pin plug. If you already have a boost control harness, just add the wire. If not, insert the wire into the 8-pin plug, pin3.

The White wire is currently tapping the CAS crankshaft signal. This signal needs to be spliced. The wire is cut and the sensor signal feeds the white wire, the ECU side gets connected to the new (gray) wire. There were a couple guys using the TACH signal. This will not work, you must use the CAS signal.

OK.......................?

Bob
