Default Is my timing advance High? (mods & datalog in post)

Mods: Arc-2 w/87mm Maf, timing control, DR650, 720's, SupraFP, DP, CB.

My timing advance is usually in hi 30's-40's just cruising around.
at WOT its mid 30's usually.

I have tried adjustments on the Timing Controller and Arc2 (pulling timing at different rpms) But the timing advance still shows mid 30's.

I know the 720's make it difficult but I could use any input.

Also, heres a log from yesterday of a short run (short because it goes erradically lean at 4k rpms no matter what I do)

Ok so I assume the issue is the knock at 5000. When do those turbos fully spool by? Also is your fuel pump re-wired? What boost are you running?

720 injectors are wayyy too big for DR650's IMO. I would get some smaller injectors first to raise the low IDCs that are causing your timing to avance too far and cause the knock. It will make it alot easier to tune with some 550 injectors which would work fine with DR650s and your other supporting mods. Good luck!

You do realize that when you make timing adjustments they won't show up on the OBDI/OBDII datalogger.

You can set base timing on mmcd. You can't on his I assume its a hybrid logger? Well I have never used any timing control except for the cas so I cant say from experience but if your adjusting the timing and the timing doesent adjust wouldent that mean there is something wrong with the install or the device itself?

Also I am running 720's @ 18psi with 3* less timing via cas and no knock with the arc 2 so it can work, arc2 states that 720cc injectors can be used. Although dont get me wrong if they where smaller tuning would be way easier and timing wouldent be much of an issue but it is tunable. Anyways the fact that he has timing control should take care of this problem with those injectors.

We need some more info like the amount of boost your running and if your pump is rewired. I had the same issues with an insane amount of knock at 16 psi, I rewired my pump and it all went away.

this is because we are controlling timing after the ecu, Correct?

The ECU is unaware something else is modifying the timing, and just reports the timing it's commanding.

So if you're datalogging and see 30 degrees peak at WOT and repeat that same run again but subtract 15 degrees with a piggyback, you'll still read 30 degrees on the OBDI/OBDII datalogger.

Yeah FP is hotwired, boost was at 1 bar for the runs..
and I do have the Hybrid Dataloger and was unaware that the Logger wouldnt show the Timing adjustments. so thanks for clearing it up. (I just got it, so still learning it)

My tune is ok, Im thinking the MSD wires are shot and thats why I get breakup at ~4k rpms, because plugs are good and gapped close enough .028
