Ok, so I still have no idea where to go with the idle tune, It starts beautifully.. purrs just fine for about 15 seconds, then it starts going lean>>rich, lean>>>>rich, lean>>>>>>>rich, lean>>>>>DIE!

I'll have to go out and actually copy down all the settings and post them in here... Driving is great, just idling isnt so hot..

I didn't go look at what you were running but I had that problem in blowthrough when my rear plug wires got too close to the MAF. The MAF internal wire was acting like an antenna.

Interesting.. Im running my stock gutted MAS, which Im sure the gutted part is contributing to some of the erratic behavior.. however I should be able to tune it properly now.. I tried throwing a little more fuel at it, didnt seem to do anything.. It doesnt idle so hot after its fully warmed up either, like sitting at a stop light it gets down there pretty low and then jumps back up there.. and when I back up if its idling it gets down there like its just about to die..

I remember in the old days that gutting the honeycomb from the stock MAS caused some serious issues. The honeycomb is there to create laminar flow, so removing it increases the possibility of turbulent flow and erratic readings. This would be worse when you pull substantially more air than stock but that isn't what you are doing at idle. These cars do have a warm idle restart issue that the normal setup handles but the MAFT doesn't not do a good job with but I haven't seen any issues after a few seconds at restart.

I think I've figured out how to accomodate for the air flow through the gutted mas by upping the % on the gms/sec maf flow, seems to idle pretty well at a slightly higher rpm ~900 as opposed to the ~500rpm before..

How can I get my cruise under control.. ie, when I lightly stay on the gas, just to maintain speed, the car jumps up and down about 200rpm (almost like light rev limiter) the gas also seems to kick in kind of hard after each shift, not much in the way of smoothly taking off.. My wideband has been jumping ALL over the place lately with my mainscale set to about -20 with no other adjustments other than the MAF 4gams/sec set around 15%

Remember that anything you do in MAF or RPM section adds or subtracts to the mainscale....it's all cumulative....

Yea, I've toyed around by adding and subtracting from both trying to keep the whole thing around that -20 or so, but when Im on the gas lightly like I said, its not a smooth drive.. its constantly going up and down..

Also, I'm still having trouble on getting a good value for the MAF for grams/second. I'm tyring to figure out what a stock setting for this would be and then trying to figure what it might be with the gutted MAS, I have not gotten good running results with the 3" GM MAF and originally suspected the sensor was bad (bought it on ebay several months ago) Apparently pulled from "99 Grand Am" as the markings say. But perhaps I did not have some things set. Apparently the 3" GM MAF can flow approximately 800cfm? Like I said, I would like to find out how I can calculate grams/second, and get a good idea what air flow I have and then figure what kind of percentage I can add or subtract to the appropriate grams/second flow.. or maybe I just still have no idea what I'm talking about.. lol

Well now that I think about it, if youre running stock MAS I wonder if MAF g/sec have any use....I havnt played with mine for a couple of months now....
