Been a while since I've been here.
My car is finally running well thanks to LSE getting it running with the AEM. I had a laptop with some software loaded on it to communicate with the AEM, but it has since died over the winter. Now I only have a desktop, and I keep running out of extension cord as I drive around the block. I just have a few questions that I was going to ask LSE, but I can't get a hold of anyone there, and now as I look around here, it looks like they may not be in business anymore. When I was running the emanage, I would hit the A/C button, and the little yellow or green light would flick on, depending on position. The engine would also jump up a tad in idle speed, I believe to deal with the added load. All good and fine. Anywho, enough background, onto the question. Since firing it up after sitting for the winter, and dealing with various other issues that popped up, I finally managed to take it out for a spin today, and noticed that the A/C light does not even light up. The vents blow semi-cold air, but it is still a tad chilly in good ol' GB, so I'm not sure if the A/C is hooked up with the new AEM controlling everything. So... I am not very well versed in AEM yet... nor do I really have a way to look into it at the moment, but I was hoping someone could tell me if the A/C will still work with the AEM? Perhaps it is always on? or the light is just not programed to light up with the AEM? I have also noticed that the idle does not step up no matter what position the button is in. (off, on demand, or on) I would prefer to keep my A/C. that is why I designed my turbo system the way I did... So I hope the AEM doesn't take that away... ~Thank you in advance for any help that is given.~ (P.S. This may not be very technical in nature, but seemed to be ECU Tuning in nature, if it's in the wrong spot mods, feel free to move it.)

Yes, the AC works with the AEM. You can also adjust the idle speed to compensate for the compressor load.

Sounds like youhave an A/C problem not an AEM problem. That light is not controlled by the AEM. Blown fuses? Bad switch?

my AC is not working either since going with the AEM.
i believe there is issue between the head unit and the aem. still need to borrow a head unit from someone and put into the car to see if it works or not. arg

I posted this in the AEM forum but didn't get a response.
Can someone take a look at my calibration and help me figure out why my AC isn't working? AC worked at one time with a previous tune and firmware version. Car is a 97 VR4. Flex-a-lite fans have replaced the stock radiator and condenser fans. Flex-a-lite fans are wired to LS9 for both to turn on. Fans are not wired to stock condenser fan wiring. No cold air is coming out. Fans do not turn on. AC parameter on EMS does not turn to ON but remains as OFF.

ive got the same problem. IPS tuned the car but apparently didn't get the AC to work with the tune. now im left trying all sorts of things. They confirmed with the tuner that the AC settings are correct, but i have no idea why its not engaging.

I was just to dumb to put the passenger side kick panel back in, which has a control unit for the A/C attached to it. I put the kick panel in, pluged the contoller in, and wham-oh, lights worked on the button, and AC was working. Good luck to everyone else finding their problems. |
