Default Re: Emange Ultimate 2 step and no lift shif??

here is the breakdown of how the rev limiters on the EMU work. The first block is staging rev limit (what you call 2 step). This is activated when the EMU does not detect pulses from the speed sensor. when your car moves, the speed sensor sends pulses to the ecu and speedometer to represent how fast the front differential is turning. I don't know how many pulses there are per tire rotation. My car doesn't run right now, so I can't check. If your car is sitting still, you will have 0 pulses from the Vehicle Speed sensor, and the EMU will use the staging rev limit as your current rev limiter.

The next block is the Max rev limit. This can be used to enforce a lower rev limit than stock, or if you have mapped out yoru base map and rev limit eliminator map to raise yoru rev limit, this will enforce a max rev limit once you are deep in the EMU based fuel map (beyond 7300 rpm). whether or not you choose to do thta is up to you. It does work and quite well.

The next block is your shift up rev limit. This is the rev limit that the EMU uses when it senses a trigger. If you select "switch" in the block to the right, and configure your Emanage to use a switch in that input, the emanage will impose that rev limit everytime you hit that switch. if you used your clutch switch, that is what it will do. This will allow you to go full throttle, press the clutch, and have the Emanage bring the RPMs down to what you specify with a rev limiter while you are shifting and what not.

The TPS value is the required throttle position to activate the staging rev limit. This is for if you want to be able to free rev your car beyond this rev limit while sitting still without always hitting the rev limiter

The ignition adjustment retards your ignition timing by the specified ammount when a rev limit is activated. by putting a checkmark beside corresponding rev limits, you are telling the EMU to retard timing by that ammount when the corresponding Rev limit is used. This will make your exhaust pop and spit fire. Don't stand behind the car when it is used.

The # of V.S. pulses block tells the EMU how many VS pulses to look for before disengauging the staging rev limit. "in theory" you could use this as a type of launch control to keep tire spin at bay, but I have not had a chance to experiment with this yet. if you put in "0" it will use the staging rev limit until the car begins to move, then the staging rev limit is removed.

like you already discovered in the search, you need to read RPM by ignition signal input for the reasons given in the other post.

This should be all the info you need to make your car do what you want it to do.

NOTE: yoru tach will not work during any EMU imposed Rev limit because it modifies the ignition signal PRE-PTU. This will not damage anything electrical, so don't worry about it.

I have tried to set this up and follow how both Gray Haze and Racer_X said but for some reason it's not working consistently. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am taking away the switch and the up-shift option. What exactly do I need to do to get the 2 step working?

1. Your ignition signal wires must go through your emanage and be functioning properly
2. Your car must have the speed sensor wire hooked up to the e-manage
3. your car must be sitting still
4. Your TPS sensor must be hooked up to the e-manage and calibrated in the emanage software
5. you must be giving the throttle more than your specified minimum ammount

if it doesn't work, your e-manage may be broken.

I do have the stage 2 wiring and on it didn't show anything about the speed sensor.
How do I hook it up? To the ECU and if you so what pin(s).
E-manage pin 41- Vehicle Speed Signal Input - Light Blue / Yellow?
When I do the speed sensor wiring, do I have to do any configuration on the e-manage?

Speed Sensor is connector C53, pin 66, Yellow wire with white stripe. C53 is the connector on teh ecu with 4 pig pins holes on one side (2 rows of 2) and 2 Big pin holes on the other (1 row of 2). pin 63 will be close to the middle of the connector. Look for the yellow wire with white stripe. This wire will be intercepted by the Emanage (E-manage input from the sensor side, Emanage output to the ECU side). The speed sensor should be pre selected in your car configuration on the emanage.

All wiring done (thanks), I couldn't find the "speed sensor" in the configuration on the emanage.
