Default ecu swap

I have been kicking around ideas for my truck since the JET reprogram did less then expected and a piggy back is too much. I am thinking of getting a diff ecu. i know some have run the 3.5L on their 3k gt ECU but i think most have been DOHC. I have a SOHC and was thinking i could get a ecu from a 03 eclipse with the same SOHC 4 valves per head set up as i have or maybe a 07 galant with the same head set up. i talked to David at RPW and he said i may run into a prob with pinouts going to diff things from the ecu. i plan on getting ECU harness wiring diagrams from my vehicle and the 2 possibilities i mentioned to compare. what set up have the swappers here run? thoughts on the possibilites of this or would it only be possible with a new wiring harness also?

94-97 ECU's just swap for us.
91-93 can go between those 3 years, and 98-99 only go to those two years. 94-97 ECU can be swapped into a 98/99 with an adapter harness.

If I were you, I'd just get a piggy back.

i guess i forgot to add, piggy backs are expensive (i can get a ecu for~200) but there is not a adaptor for any of the piggybacks that will work for my trucks ecu. maybe i just answered some of my ?, if i cant hookup the piggyback then there is a good chance the pinouts on the other vehicles are diff provided u can piggyback a eclipse. i just dont know.

Can't you get a EMBlue for less than 200 bucks now used?

possible. i looked at the diagrams and no dice. it would take alot od splicing and i would still have the prob with the lack of an adaptor. i may revisit this with IPS if i can indeed get the blue 4 cheap but the adaptor prob will still be present. on another subject i did find out by looking at my older dyno graphs that the "rich spike at 4k" started with the JET reprogram so i am giong to have the cam gears advanced 2 more degrees and see it it brings things back to where they were before ie.. flat fuel curve, the dyon will tell. Thanks 4 ur input Haze!
