macs made from 1994-2006 used a processor architecture called PowerPC, while the Intel and AMD processors used in most PCs during that same time period on threw today used what is called the x86 architecture. so basically because all windows machines where built to run on this one kind of hardware and macs where built to run on another it is virtually impossible to get windows or windows apps to run on an older mac although technically i think there some emulators where made for them most of them aren't supported anymore and are hard to come by. in 2006 apple started to shift all of it's products to intel processors which are the same as the ones used in PCs. so any mac made after 2006 will run data logging software just fine if windows is ether installed using A. boot camp. that is a free download from apple and comes with all new macs that are shipped with OS X leopard, witch allows you to chose if holding down the option key when turning the computer on wether you want to load in to mac or windows. B. parallels desktop witch is a program that allows you to run windows within a window on the mac, this is useful because you can use you mac and pc apps side by side but it isn't free. or my personal favorite C. install windows threw another program called VM ware fusion which works similar to parallels but has a feature called unity that gets rid of the window that has windows in it and puts the start bar in your mac and makes it look like the windows apps are ran natively in the mac. it even allows the apps to be minimized in to the dock. once again this program isn't free ether but i think it's money well spent and in all cases a copy of windows is needed to install. general rule of thumb No iBook or Powerbook will run Windows but all Macbooks and Macbook Pros (and Macbook Airs although i wouldn't recommend it.) will.
and just for refrance win useing windows the command key is the windows ket, the option key is alt and control is the same.
