Those of you running tachs:

Are you pulling from the ignition to your gauge?

Are you T'ing from the tach signal to the aem?

Are you taking an output from the aem?

Thanks,

- Jay

Btw, a big thanks goes out to penguins for a great startup map.

Ist gen car: The aem ems is pulling the tach signal direct from the harness, just as the oem ecu would do.

hey guys.. i'm going to install the AEM EMS in my car and i was wondering if this is everything i need..

AEM EMS
AEM wideband O2 UEGO controller - dual channel with 2 wideband O2 sensors
AEM pressure transducer (MAP sensor)
AEM intake air temperature sensor (IAT)
AEM exhaust gas temperature sensor (EGT)
3 AEM universal EMS display gauges (with gauge pods)
a laptop..

everything else i have is in my sig.. i plan to get it professionally installed to ensure i get up and running smoothly..

i just wanted to check and see if i was forgeting something and if there where any other issues/concerns i should take note of..

What basemap did you use? The AEM 2nd gen basemap has the radiator fan stuff set up. Maybe take a look at the output configurations on the basemap versus your current map to figure out where it is missing. Pay particular attention to the Functions tab in the Outputs.

LS2 is the low radiator fan output, and should be set to functions "active" and Rad Fan checked. Then in the functions tab the Rad Fan function should be set to turn on above 194F and turn off below 185F. You can change the values as you see fit.

LS9 is the "High radiator fan" output, and is typically configured to use Basic Activation and turn on when coolant temp is above 196F.
