Humm, sorry about the delay. With the blackout here on Monday, they actually had work for me yesterday.

Very interesting differences. Interesting where they are similar.

I guess I should wonder exactly how it is working as well as it is. Maybe I got really lucky. I can't wait to do logs with your cal vs mine with the MAF.

I thought it was interesting that you run your boost at 100% (almost) all the time. I played with mine and asked some people about that in particular. Mitsubishi says 100%, but AEM says not to run it at more than 80%. So I asked some engine builders that build up turbos for racing and they said kind of the same thing. After a certain point the turbo doesn't really build more boost. But did not actually do testing. They thought that people might be using 100% of 80% but not 100% of 100%.

I will send you the cal, but for the most part it is pretty off the shelf, so I am not sure why people have drivablity issues. It is great at 91 octane, but will ping some if you really step on it with 87, but that is sort of expected without a good tune for the lower octane.

As a totally stock car it is a good test platform for some things too. I think it would be fun to run maps with a stock ECU to see what Mitsubishi was trying to do. I am sure they spent some big money on the original setup.

100% works, but with stock turbos the air temp jumps from 100F to 160F in no time and Knock screaming here I AM !!!

DO NOT run my map on 87 octane please! lol... i dont know how my cal will run with a map but please let me know id like to see a log too, and that cal never had a electric boost solonoid used with it so the fact that the boost table is all at 100% means nothing, i would never do that, your choking your exhuast with tiny turbos if you do that and will actually lose power and its 100% of 83% anyway

Why do people insist on putting crappy gas in their cars, it just doesn't make sense. :confused

Anyway, think about this. How many times do you fill up a year, say 52(once a week). OK, premium is 20 cents more, and you fill up with 15 gallons. That's $3 per fillup. So about $150 A YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just not worth it, and plus, you probably get better gas mileage with premium anyway, since that is what the car is made to run on.

But . . .but . . . I fill up almost 3 times a week. And $450 will get me more parts.

I promise to be good.

I ordered the MAP from Summit so that should be here soon.

They seemed to have the best price I could find on an MSD 2313.

And I will attest that you are actually right. I do get about 1 or 2 MPG better on Shell 91. I will say that some of my tweaks have resulted in significant milage changes. I think I got 14 once. I thought the speedo cable was broken.

Does anyone have a line on a good MD159965? Rock Auto has a rebuilt for 300, and Norco Mitsubishi has one for $895 .
