I'd say ditch the MAF and get a MAP sensor, MUCH easier to tune. Plus the MAF is a big restriction anyway. Anyway, if you have your map tuned well with the MAF, you may be actually be the authority on that. I got mine running ok, but not great.

It is a street tune, there is enough open road because where I live is pretty empty on weekends, and I drive the 405 at 4:30 in the morning so I get some good long runs too.

I have heard that California emissions testing consists of 3 different rpm test points. I was hoping someone would know, I mean AEM is based just off the freeway I travel. Someone in California must have one.

I don't want to stir up too many hornets because I know everyone (including Summit Racing) told me that this is for off-road use only.

Which is the reason I have tried to keep it as stock as possible, just in case I have to go back to the stock 159965 ECU.

I suppose I could take off the MAF and go MAP for 729 days. I am sure they won't take the kick plates off to see what ECU is in there.

Would your base map work okay with stock O2s?

The AEM is such a fun toy. Coming from an instrumentation and electronic design background I think that any of the shortcomings should be able to be overcome.

I was looking at a posting somewhere that was looking for the communication protocol for the AEM to the serial connector. I have thrown a serial leech on there and it seems like there might be a pattern. When it is cooler to work in the garage I might have something there. I think it would be nice to have an electronic instrument cluster that would fit into the current spot.

I also understand that there is a way to make the turbo boost gauge on the dash work again. Still looking for where I saw that.

wtf stock O2's so youve been tuning on narrow band O2 sensors and a stock maf and your car is running good and very drivable.... thats actually pretty amazing ive never even attempted anything like that... but yes my basemap will work if the only mod you have is a map sensor it will still work, it doesnt use O2 feedback unless you turn it on

Cool, could you please send it to rex@microradianengineering.com. I think it will be fun to compare it too.

I am too embarassed to send it to you to see it first.

Which MAP should I get?

For the most part I used the starting map and tweaked here and there. I am sure that yours will be educational.
