If you are going to do it that way, then why not just use their Variable Controller and hook it up to a boost line?

Or you could use their MAF controller, and tee the MAP sensor signal to that directly also.

I'm not sure that straight boost-based flow is the way to go though. You'd want more water/alky flow at higher rpm than at lower rpm given the same boost level.

You might want to start a new thread about this specific topic, rather than continuing it here.

Thanks

I just wasn't sure what parameters the AEM can use to produce an output voltage to and alky/system.

Thanks again for your help.

I run an aem ems, aem 3.5 bar map and temp and dual W02s

I think for the most part if you have any clue how to tune a car, the aem is a snap. My one word of advice to anyone considering going AEM, is to get some wide band O2s.

I found the car ran mostly like ass before going to speed density. But I didn't spend a lot of time tuning it with the factory MAS. Once I went to MAP, a rough tune starting with the supplied base map and adding a boost map got me up and running very quickly.

Overall the wiring required for the aem/map setup is next to nothing. all the wires you need are already in the engine bay, except for one iirc. wiring up the WO2 controller couldn't have been much easier either.

I'm not sure why so many people spend so much on piggy back systems to get half the capability. Not that there haven't been fast cars with piggy back setups, but in the end the AEM is cheaper and more capable imho.

The EMS isn't an easy place to start as a tuner, but it is certainly among the most flexible tuning devices I've ever used. One box pretty much does it all, and the precision of the tune you can get to is much better than the piggybacks I've tried. If it was the first tuning device you ever used, I could see how it would seem very intimidating.

its not full boost comp its a "hybrid" boost comp map meaning only load lines above 0psi are boost comp, this makes it more streetable IMO and easier to tune low in the load/rpm ranges ill send you this and a full boost comp one if you want and you can decide, my email is penguLns2001@aol.com if you want to contact me off the forums

Sorry, I didn't want to bother you for one yet since I won't have it installed for a little while. I'll send you an email as to not clog up the thread though. The hybrid map was what I meant, that sounds like the best possible way to tune it with forced induction

Matt,

Some of the RX-7 are having a "famous" tuner up in the twin cities tuning cars... think it is worth it to have him setup my AEM? $350 includes dyno time.

Hmmmm... Interesting. I haven't heard of those guys, but that isn't surprising at all since I don't know any RX7 guys anymore. I don't think the $350 includes dyno time though, most of the people on their list aren't using a dyno. They probably also won't be at an AWD dyno, would be my guess.

I talked to the guy heading it up and they found me two AWD dynos in the twin cities to pick from. My only concern is that this guys primary tunes rotories.

Jeremy,

How much for that GM BC Solenoid and what is its rating?

I also have a GM boost control solenoid if anyone's interested in purchasing it. I'm not using it. Using my GReddy E-01 instead, personal decision.

Coal - boost comp is the way to go.

My car, with 1,000cc injectors and race cams, idles at 950rpms at 14.7:1 AFR all thanks to the AEM ems. ....and Renner and IPSJeff.
