On premium pump gas my car seems to like 11.5:1 to 11.7:1. 12:1 is getting too close to the edge on pump gas for my liking. When running race fuel like C16, 12.2:1 to 12.5:1 is a pretty good target.

Inj duty cycle question.
100% means injector open all the time ...or it open 100% every second revolution of the crank?
AEM setup = 6000 RPM, max load fuel map value 250 , mSecbit 40.
Now calculating.
6000rpm = 100 rev/sec, 4cycle engine, - 50 firing cycles/sec or 50 fuel injection cycle per second. 1s/50 = 0.02sec max fuel inj time

now AEM, fuel value * mSecbig = 250*.000040 = 0.01

so ,AEMsays i can only open inj for 0.01sec but actual window is 0.02s(two crank rev).
Does that mean that injection occurs only during every second crack rev? so it is possible to override the duty to 110% and 200%.
Why can't i run them at 100-110% ?????

You aren't running Boost Compensation or anything else like that? If so, you need to add on the additional pulsewidth from the compensation to get to your IDC value that the AEM is showing you.

fuel value * mSecbit * boostcomp% = 250*.000040 * 2.00 = 0.02
(assuming boost compensation of 200% at 1 Bar and other things constant) = 100% IDC.

If you need more fuel before compensation, or don't want to run boost comp then you need to use higher microsecond/bit numbers. You can't get to 100% IDC if msec/bit is too low to support it.

fuel value * mSecbit = 250*.000080 = 0.02

...and really you don't want to run much above 85% IDC because your injector coils may overheat and fail.

Exclamation Please Help my car is now non-functional

I just finishing uninstalling the Emanage and installed the AEM in its place. I sent a new calibration file to the unit. My problem is the car starts and revs up to 2000 rpms and then after 2 seconds it stalls out.

Attached is my .cal file and log file. The internal logger is set to log automatically, so I don't know if any valueable data was captured or not.

Penguin2001 was kind enough to create a .cal file for me. Some of the things I've changed are:
A) reactivated the air conditioning parameters since it was disabled.
B) Configured my IAT as Mitsubishi IAT (all). I'm probably the only one who's not using a GM IAT. I'm planning on keeping the stock MAF, and just gut the honey combs out.
C) Changed the Crank Advance from 17.80 down to 10.07 (10.07 is what the stock .cal file had).
D) Modified the O2 FB Target MAP (leaned out the rich 10.2 to 11.5 AFR instead).

Some other info. AEM 3.5bar MAP is powered up from the TPS harness. The AEM 3.5 bar output goes to pin 53 (EGRT). The MAP sensor vacuum/pressure is T'd to the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line.

The PLX M300 wideband (white wire) is wired to pin 56 (Lamda #1).

I'm stumped. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Both files zipped up for a smaller download.

DAMN PENGULNS!

ARE YOU HELPING EVERYONE OUT!?

How does he have the time do make all these calibration maps?
Haha... Okay... onto your issue. Did you check the what WB O2 readings you were getting when the car started?
Hit F6 to start logging before you crank the car.. then hit F6 again after the car dies and see what exactly is going on.

My guess is it has something to do with the idle/engine start... this is a PITA if you don't have experience doing it. My best suggestion... only one I have for you honestly. Is to read the manual on how to get the car to find idle. I think there's actually a dedicated section on "Setting up Idle"... or something like that.

I think they also have it on the aemforums somewhere, but a quick search couldn't find it. Probably in the EMS manuals section.

Also...

Although I'm sure pengulns probably already has that taken care of.

::edit::

after reviewing your log files... it looks like you need to play with your idle target base table. Basically you need to set up your idle.

I'm not used to using the AEM logger software, but it looks like it captured useful data. I just don't know what normal looks like.

I also forgot to mention, I did not check my base timing on my car. I tried to get a reading before I installed the AEM, but my timing light gun is broken. FYI, my car is a 93 (non adjustable base timing).
