I have the AEM 3.5 map connected to the small nipple close to brake booster (a couple inches from throttle). about 8" vacume line, nothing else connected to the nipple only MAP. I looked at the frequency and it is two times slower then RPM , so it is related. My thoughts are that cyclinder intake fases drops the boost (at 5.5K the difference webween mountain and valey are 4psi !!!). Looks like it is mechanical issue and not electrical. I wanted to try to attach longer hose to the map to try to filter air presure flactuations.

quick question:..
i just recently got a CEL.. i pulled the code and it points to a bad O2 sensor.. if i was to have to change the O2 sensor, would it matter if i replaced it with a wideband O2 sensor instead of a stock narrowband?.. i plan on getting an AEM EMS one day down the line (actually its my next major upgrade after i finish up with my current mods), so i was wondering if i could get a headstart with this O2 sensor... firstly, is this a good decision?.. and secondly, if i was to do this, what all would i have to consider?..

The only issue i see is that main o2 sensors are before turbo and the wideband sensors are not recomended there, they have to be down the line. Sounds like you would need to weld o2 bung(s) in order to put wb. |

I'm using the dual-channel widebands in the factory location with the narrowband outputs going to the stock ecu. No problems so far, I guess I may be decreasing the life of the sensors though.

I think i found the fix to my MAP sensor 'noise'. RC filter solved majority of the issue.
Since my reading are more stable now i notice the AFR ration is closer to 12AFR instead of 11.5. will i get better result tuning car (stock turbos) to 11.5 or 12.00 afr (94 octane)?? |
