after installing AEM remote stopped working? Any idea what ECU has to do with the locks?
Also, anybody put EGT probe in the stock o2 locationi? I can't find 18mm to 1/8npt adapter. I will try to make one. I just do not want to drill stock manifolds at this point and thought stock o2 bunds should be a good place to start.

pengulns2001: I use a USB adapter. I have one from radio shack, it has there name on it. it works great!!! i have used other brands and fround them to slow down the comunication between my laptop and my EMS. so if you where to get one get the one radioshack sells with there name on it. It works great for me!

i have another question, seeing as the EMS accepts all the inputs from sensors, what happens if you are using aftermarket sensors for gauges for, oil pressure, and water temp. will it cause any problem or will it just not allow the factory gauges to work anymore.

The AEM does not read the oil pressure unless you add on a spare input, but there really isn't much point to doing that. It does read the coolant temp, but it uses the 2-wire coolant temp sensor just like the factory ecu. The stock gauge uses the 1-wire sensor, so as long as the 2-wire sensor is left alone the AEM will not be affected. Most aftermarket gauges use their own sending units anyway, so if the sensors that the AEM is using are left alone, the installation of aftermarket gauges will not change anything.

For those asking questions about boost control, there is a large thread on the AEM forum about it. It's relatively in depth, and I'm sure I can't explain it any better then this anyway, so check it out:

I know for sure that the AEM certainly doesn't do anything with it, and I don't believe that the stock ECU has anything to do with the keyless entry either. I doubt you will find an 18mm to 1/8npt adaptor, so your best bet is to just find a plug for the O2 bung, and then drill/tap it for the 1/8npt fitting for the EGT. Your temps will be a few hundred degrees coooler and will respond much slower, so it's not really very useful compared to getting it in the manifold. |

Does anyone know if we can use the EMS to output the correct PSI to the stock boost gauge? I thought this would be cool seeing as both of mine mine are just resting dead right now b/c my map sensor is using my autometer's port on the plenum.
