First thing: I would double check that the correct fuel injectors are selected in the Wizard and that a green check mark appears in the brand and size box.
If so, then just highlight the whole fuel map and use the right click to get the adjust fuel functions and use the Percentage option. Tpe in 95 to get a reduction of 5 % less fuel, type in 90% to get 10% less fuel across the highlighted areas. Given you have AFRs of mid 10's at idle, divide the AFR with the wanted 14.0 AFR value and use that percentage..in your case, try a conservative 20% reduction. So type in 80 in the Percentage box to adjust the fuel to a leaner state by about 20%

New project in the works

Otherwise, see Kim's suggestions, pending what your idle tables/warm up tables look like. Make sure you have 680cc injectors selected with the proper battery/offset.

Will the AEM EMS work with a 98 or 99 VR4? Just asking because on AEM's website it only shows products for the 3S up until 1995.

Hi all
![]() I hope that it's the good thread for my question! I'm tried to make a start map for my friend on 3si french board and i would like to have your advice about this map. This is a start map and i know that i need to make some correction on tima and ipw! I made a rich O2FB and poor Timing advance because i wanted to have a safe map to start and test it! Click right and save as: http://saphir68fr.free.fr/AEM%20...201c.V1.19.cal Setup: TD05 16G, Stock heads and shortblock, Denso 720 , dual pumps, speed density. I don't want a map to help me!! just your advice please For me the best way to understand the aem ems and the 6G72 is to work with a training map ( on the computer , not on the car! ) .... I think....! With your advices , i will see if i'm on the good way and if it's ok, i'll be happy to know that i understand the aem Thank's all ![]() Saphir. Ps: Sorry if my english is not good! AEM map sensors:
The black MAP sensor wire can be t'd into the black tps wire (ground). The green wire goes to the ECU EGR pin for your model year (53 or 73). The red wire can be t'd into the green/yellow striped tps wire (+5v). The vampire taps shown below are NOT recommended but are only shown for example purposes (in this case when the aem was just being tested and then removed). Question the green wire where exactly does that go? run a wire through my firewall or what?? understand everything cept that wire.. thanks guys Dave, oh and if i took off my egr do i even need to do anything with this wire.??

There should be pics of what you need at AEM forum under 3000GT section. Hope that helps. It's been so many years that I don't recall exactly. The green wire on second gen's will need to be run to the ecu and use the extra pin connector to tap it into the EGR pin out. But I am not sure on a 99 model which pin number is the one you need. The green wire is the one that will send the MAP load signal to the ecu.
