Right now the only type of EGT sensor that the AEM EMS will accept uses an RTD type probe. AEM sells one and it works well for me. Most EGT gauges use a K-type thermocouple probe (I'm sure the Greddy is the same) and, as of right now, there is no way to use one with the AEM EMS. There is someone on the AEM board that is working on a controller box that would allow the use of K-type probes with the EMS.
On the second point, you can adjust fueling based on EGT's if you have a compatible EGT probe. Dan

Do they make a RTD sensor that could be attached to the AEM directly without attaching another gauge. Like installing a map sensor directly to the AEM ? That's probably just a stupid question . I already have a greddy gauge so I don't need another display.

Ok people with EMS.....I have a questions for you which i can't not find the answers for.
Do you use AEM two extra 0-5V inputs? I was thinking to build cheap K-type EGT sensor converter to 0-5V output and connect (cheap Ktype EGT sensors) to extra AEM input. So i am not sure if those inputs are commonly used for something.. And second question, can the AEM be configured to use those two inputs for EGT vs the build-in EGT(RTD) inputs? Help would be greatly appreciated. |
