Damn that sucks.... I've really grown attached to the scanmaster/palm. Is there any other logging solutions for AEM, other than driving around with you laptop on your passenger seat? ie. perhaps pocket PC based or palm?

I'm sure you could figure something out, but in the grand scheme of things there is sooo much information to look through that a small screen would be a laughing matter. Do you not have a laptop or is it just that you don't feel like having one in the car whilst tuning?
Also the active exhaust will not function with the switch. I can't remember what the aem uses that channel for but the motor will just cycle from open to closed endlessly.

http://www.gauge-tech.com People have been requesting a Palm or Windows Mobile type of logger/tuner for a while, but I don't think AEM is real interested in supporting those. I'm using a Fujitsu ruggedized Tablet PC in my '91 in place of the dash. Runs full Windows and has a PC Card slot, USB connectivity, and a wireless IR keyboard. I think it was $290 off eBay with all the goodies (docking station, AC charger, 12V charger, carrying case, Windows XP).

The AEM has an internal logger. Logging and displaying parameters are two different things. This is pretty basic AEM info and included in the description of the unit.
You can set your logging settings in the program. Later you can plug in your laptop and display whatever parameters you want (dpending on how you setup the logging) right from the unit itself. Or you can also have the laptop plugged in and log too but not required. Displaying parameters can be either via laptop (or through laptop to external screen), or use the serial gauges. Serial gauges are nice as they have user selection for up to 19 parameters on the fly. They also have controlled output based on whatever parameters you set (for warning light, buzzer, controllers, etc). The options are fairly unlimited. Most people don't need the serial and laptop hooked up at the same time. If your laptop is connected it can show any parameters itself so gauges are redundant. It'd be nice but is not necessary. ![]() Sorry about the image size, I don't have a good way to resize it right now. It isn't a touchscreen in the sense that you can touch it with a finger to move the mouse, it is a tablet PC so it has a stylus screen that you point at with a stylus. It works well enough to get the job done. The metal behind it is what's left of the dash in my '91, so not exactly "mounted" in there yet... |

Does anyone have a wiring diagram, or install notes on this? I cant find anything online. Such as MAP wiring, IAT wiring etc, etc. One would think that would be on the first page of this thread, seeing how the maftpro, and emanage does.
