Did a search and couldn't find the answer. I bought a 2g Eclipse ems 30-1310. It's a direct plug and play for our cars except that 2 wires from the stock wire harness need to be switched. After looking at the pin-outs for both models I cannot determine which 2 pins need to be switched. I know for a fact that is can be done...just can't say which pins. Anyone know which pins need to be switched? Thanks, Jason.

Download the software and read the docs. Go to AEMPOWER.com, register for the electronic forums and see what you find. It will help.

Hey guys, I was curious if anyone is running thier AEM EMS software with Windows Vista? If so, have you had any problems?
I recently bought a new laptop to replace my state of the art 2001 IBM T22 and it comes with Windows Vista. I picked it up because I've been looking at getting a newer laptop for some time and this particular one was on sale for a hell of a deal; however, I haven't opened it yet because if it will not work then I'll just take it back and get my money back and keep looking. Basically, what I want to know is if I can run the AEM programs with Windows Vista providing I get an RS-232 compliant serial card/cable. I did some searches on the AEM forum and things look to be pointing to the positive for me but I would like some 3/S familiarity backup as I can imagine that there are certain idiosynchracies with the 30-1311 that are not noticed on other platforms (but hey, I'm guessing here ).

Out of curiousity, has anyone tried to use an RS-232 compliant Serial Bluetooth adapter?
I searched AEM and didn't find much, I found one guy who tried an adapter (unspecified) but had no luck. Anyhow, I was looking at various RS-232 adapters to get one to work with my new laptop and came across a serial bluetooth adapter which I thought would be awesome with the AEM EMS (just jump in the car with the laptop and connect, no cables or a leash limiting you on how far you can go). The particular one I found was from IO Gear (Model #GBS301), on the surface, it sounds like it will drop in no problem and you'll be wireless but there is a catch that they don't really express; the damn thing requires continuous power. I spoke with an IO Gear tech assistant who had mentioned that some have created battery packs for the device (which I though was nice) but I was thinking something more along the lines of a 12V adapter. The tech rep told me that the serial bluetooth device requires a 6V/300mA source which could easily be built to work with the adapter except I don't really know too mcuh about building a power supply. My initial thought would be to take a 12VDC source, put in some resistors and make it a 6VDC source but I wasn't sure how to get the current right. Anyhow, has anyone tried this device using an AC adapter to know if it works? Also, does anyone have any info on building the required power source? |

I'm looking into upgrading to an AEM because I'm at the end of my rope when it comes to the stock ECU & piggy backs. I realize this stuff has probably already been posted, but this thread is too long to read so I'm hoping someone can help me out with some quick answers.
1. With AEM, will the stock active exhaust still work? I understand the automatic open/close function won't work, but will it still manually open and close via the switch? 2. With AEM installed will my Scanmaster & datalogger be rendered useless? 3. Currently running a GM MAF in blow through. Will I have to switch to a MAP system to get wideband tracking? I'm planning on switching to a MAP system eventually, just don't think I have the cash to do it all in one go. 4. I currently have an innovate LC-1 wideband in the confluence of my downpipe. Is it advisable to add another wideband sensor or two in the stock locations? 5. I have a Snow VC-25 meth controller and I'm wondering if the AEM can control it directly and pull fuel accordingly? 6. Does anybody keep their piggybacks installed after installing an AEM? It seems like it'd be nice to have a piggyback if you wanted to tweak something on the fly, without having to pull out a laptop. Thanks in advance. |
