I've had my EMS for about a year but I just installed it this past week. I bought it awhile ago and before I could install it I spun a bearing and took the car down for rebuild/build up. So, if my computer can connect to another EMS just fine but not mine and another computer besides mine cannot connect to my EMS then the problem is obviously with my EMS which really ticks me off since the damn thing is not cheap and now doesn't work. So, either my EMS is bad or it isn't setup properly. I've read through and tried everything I could find in the "getting started" portion of the user's guide to AEMPro but I do want to rule out having a faulty unit. Can someone here provide some further insight on what I may be doing wrong or confirm that my EMS is actaully faulty?

Any luck? I'm in the same boat with my EMS. Came to the conclusion that it's the box. Want and NEED tech support, but after 3 days, I wonder if they're ALL taking a powder. Who in the hell's minding the Gawd Dang store? AC works, car cranks, but won't turn over. Com1 works on home computer, but I cannot work "ON LINE".
2 choices. Back to the shop, or continue to call AEM for tech support. Read that a card in the box was damaged and that the tech guys will send U a replacement for free.

It comes with stock startup maps. Look in your AEM folders with the program. Other than that you can't just use someone else's map. Every car is different.

I have an issue with the aem- and the engine control relay.
I turn the key forward to allow the fuel pump to prime and the ECR clicks.
about every second or so. the fuel pump also primes ....primes....primes....primes...etc, right along with the clicking of the Engine Control Relay. I turn the key off, without letting the power shut down, then turn the key forward again and all is ok, no more clicking or priming. Has anyone ran into this before?

I was looking for someone with a similar setup to mine that might have a base for me, I'm GT42, 880's, FMIC, duel Walbro, speed density, AEM 3.5bar map, GM AIT, AEM wbO2, etc...

My connectivity issue has been solved. I called tech support and explained my problem; I was told to take the box apart and look for a loose chip on the serial port side of the box. This is the only removeable chip for the unit and is responsible for communications between the EMS and your computer. My chip had completely fallen out of socket. I took the EMS apart, reinstalled the chip, put it all back together, did a firmware install, and all works well. Hopefully, this will work for you; if not, I recommend calling tech support.

has anyone used the AEM with windows vista? when i plug in the serial to usb converter it tells me that i need to install a new driver for the usb cable. this cable obvioulsy did not come with any software. i have installed all the aem software. i am having the same problem on my dsmlink to where it asks to install the new driver.

You need to contact your serial cable vendor and get appropriate Vista-compatible drivers. Or purchase a different USB to serial adapter that comes with Vista drivers. Which cable do you have?

i bought it from radio shack about one year ago. i went to a store yesterday and checked it out. they sell the same cable still but the new ones did not come with any software either that is why i was unsure if it was needed.
