You won't need the red one just the silver ones. I like them too.

True, but you will need a metal y-pipe to weld in the IAT...

I don't know if this was asked but has anyone tried using the ems program with a touchscreen monitor setup? I am unfamilar with the interface and I was wondering once you have it tuned, would a touch screen monitor allow access to necessary features. you know like switching displays and arming presets. Obviously if your filling in parameters your going to need a keyboard but after you have it tuned I doubt that you will need to be entering measurements on a daily basis. Any help on this?

I've been wanting to do a touch screen pc and custom software to control a bunch of stuff. A long time ago I posted a question on the AEM board on writing my own software to aquire data from the AEM ECU. I didn't get an official response but some people said that it would involve deciphering the control software/communications. If we could get AEM to produce a Data DLL for their ECU to where programmers can aquire data I would be able to finish this project.

AEM ems to be drivable:
Actually_ AEM's workmap that is uploaded to the EMS can be drivable with the stock MAF connected, however__ tuning it is much harder for boost level conditions unless you have the MAP sensor to read the engine load. For drivability that isn't too rich or too lean, you __still__ need a good WB-O2 so the EMS can read the signal and use O2 Feedback to keep the Air Fuel ratios fairly consistent to the 14.5:1 ish ratio for cruising. But you will still need to learn the parameters and fine tune her as best as possible for fuel table and load tables. I am sure I have some workmaps that were on the MAF with the 450 cc injectors that runs well enough that one would not know it wasn't the stock ecu driving it..but that workmap was then result of thousands of miles in a 8 month period , of drive and tuning. Got the cash..get the AEM ems. On a budget...get a used ECU and build the engine first..just my older guy $0.02 ![]()

I really want to push for a SDK for this unit. If I got a commitment I would certainly have taken the plunge before I bought my aftermarket A/F controller. But they just don't seem to want to capture the minds of programmers... Stupid move IMO. |
