Talking what to buy....$10,000 budget

I'm looking at everything..... I got $10,000 right now that I can through into my new car. wondering what everyone here would suggest for things they would get. I'm looking into making at least 500awhp to the wheels.

AND I know about the exterior.... so don't even mention it at all. lol that's after I do all this.....don't worry.

this is just for performance parts.

from the pictures they sent me I can sorta tell it has this....

S-AFC II
AVC-R type r
aftermarket boost gauge

and alex10superman pointed out all this:
*********************
-MSD wires
-Samco radiator hoses
-Blitz BOV
-Aeromotive FPR
-Some type of FMIC (of course)
-Dejon intake pipes
-AEM dryflow filters (more of guess, looking closer they could be K&N's)
-(3.5"???) GM MAF in blow through (so there has to be some type of MAFT)
-Fuel rail loop
-Some type of Alluminum Radiator (my guess is Koyo)
-Cam Gears (unless they are just painted stock ones)
-Maybe exhaust manifolds (kinda hard to tell)
-Always a possibility that the turbos are upgraded (but these are still TD04)
-Oddly I would say that your injectors are still factory (brown top)
-And lastly, judging by the stickers it is 'possible' that you have ARP head studs and Ross pistons, LOL
****************************

I'll probably go with the 3XS EVO III turbo package
and def. an AEM EMS

so..... with $10K what else would yinz suggest to make 500awhp since I'm a newb at the whole turbo/tuning thing.

Just curious: How is it that you bought a car without knowing what was done to it, man?

Anyhow.
Well with the AEM EMS + necessary sensors in the groupbuy markoverclock's doing, you'll be sitting at 5 grand alone for the 16G's/AEM EMS.

So immediately look to fuel. Upgrade those injectors, hotwire a walbro 255 at the least. Then upgrade the clutch if that hasn't been done. You'll need a front mount intercooler, and I'd probably throw on a meth kit too, if you actually want to stress those 16G's a little.

Do all of the necessary preventative maintenance on the car. Also purchase a bracket for the transfer case from Maximal Performance. You might want to put some money aside for a boost-a-spark or something to curb spark blowout at the higher cylinder pressures.

Gauges.

Then save a good grand for a fantastic AEM tuner + dyno time.

Edit: You won't need a meth kit for 500 to the wheels. 16G's are capable of over 600 to the wheels. You'll at least need a meth kit if you want to get anywhere near that.

oh, and if you didn't see my other thread that I put up when I first got the car.

it already has meth injection on it. the motor and trans. are a 99 VR4 rebuilt
has intercooler already. and an upgraded clutch too. don't know what kind though.

and what's a boost-a-spark?

and this is my second car, not a daily driver..... my project car per say.
also I don't know what's really on it cause I've been in Iraq the past 11 months and my family has NO idea about turbo'd cars.... only trucks. lol

Ah, touche, some of that stuff was buried in your first post. Well, the FMIC anyway.

Well, I'd put money aside for a new clutch anyhow. It could be fried, may not be. The previous owner looks like a total bag of infinite douche, so I wouldn't put it past him.

Stage 3 heads would be nice, then toss money into the AEM/16G setup. That'll have you sitting at over 7,500, without a new clutch. Depending on the miles, I might refresh the transmission with a rebuild. Otherwise it sounds like you have the fixin's for at least a 500WHP car if you just slap on some turbos and fuel management (other than SAFC).

I just had to comment- that's probably one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. Thanks for the laugh.

ya, he screwed it up pretty good, but I'll have 2 solid months of leave when I get back and out of the army....then all summer before school starts so I have a lot of time to work on it. and everyone has said the kid I bought it off of didn't know shit..... and the word "douche bag" came up a lot too, lol.

so I'm thinking:
3SX EVO III turbo kit
AEM EMS kit with all sensors
injectors, I'm thinking 650cc
(maybe) 3SX complete fuel kit w/ the rails
transfer case bracket

what other gauges would I need????

and I have $1000 put aside for the AEM tuner and dyno already.

Probably could get by without the rails. But a nice upgrade nonetheless.
Right there you're only at about 6500 bucks, not counting the tuner. That's all you'll need, in addition to the mods done, to get to 500 whp. I would either rebuild the transmission so I don't have to worry about it later when I'm broke from doing a bunch of unnecessary mods, or, do the heads to increase flow and lower spool time to make the turbos more responsive.

650/660cc injectors would be fine for 500 wheel, yep.

Boost-a-spark is an ignition amplifier that keeps your spark plugs from "blowing out" in high boost applications. Spark blowout would cause stuttering, hesitation and power loss at the top of your power band under high boost conditions.

Funny, but absolutely true.

The kid fell out of the top of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.

and thinking about all wheel dynos......

what's the best/closest one in the Pittsburgh area....

I looking at the list and the only that I saw that was remotely close was Slow Joe Racing in Indiana by IUP. don't know how they are with our cars though. anyone know of them....or anything else.

and who on here is actually in the Pittsburgh area?
I know Stealthee is an hour south. just wanna know who's close to me.
