Your worst speeding ticket - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

I'm curious as to what sort of consequences people on these boards have suffered for enjoying their car.

I have yet to get a ticket, but I had a close call recently. It was a little past midnight and I'd just gotten in a fight with a girl I've been talking to so I took her back to her sorority house. I took a cut through road and got back on the road to my apartment, and thinking it would help ease my frustration, stomped the gas hard. My wheels spun leaving the stop sign and I tore off down the road keeping the pedal on the floor til I got to the next stop sign. I took off hard again and after the next stop sign I slowed it back down to normal speeds. Not more than 5 seconds later I see flashing blue lights in my rear view.

The cop came up and asked if i knew how fast I'd been going (over the 25mph limit). I hadn't glanced at my spedo but I guessed 40 or 50 and he said he clocked me at 70 and asked for my license. Reaching for my wallet in my back pocket, I realized I left it in my jeans earlier when I changed. He took down my name, DOB and address and went back to his car. Right then I was thinking about how I wasn't going to be driving for a quite a while after this and was going to have a HUGE ticket. He came back and asked for my insurance and I started looking in my glove box only to realize it was in my wallet too. He went back to his car for another 10 minutes or so and came back to list off the tickets he could write me: excessive speeding, excessive acceleration, reckless driving, driving without a license, and driving without proof of insurance.

Then he said but I'm not going to, get home and keep it a lot slower next time.

Great cop or Greatest cop? lol

So what's the worst run-in you've had with the boys in blue for your driving?

57 in a 25, in my auto-x prepped Miata

(slower than trying to physically push my truck up hill)

Got off with no points and paid for a 9 over ticket.

"70" in a 40 5 points D: The cop was an asshole and was driving past me and then dropped back and turned his lights on. I was NOT going 70. But who the fuck is an 18 year old kid?

hmm... I guess 86 in a 65 was my worst. With over 14 points on my license do to being a moron as a younger adult, it almost doesn't matter. I'm only 21 and I already have more points than anyone should get in their lifetime. No bragging here either, I realize I was an idiot, but I've slowed my ass down since

My greatest moment was in PA on the way to Myrtle Beach. It was like 2AM and a work zone was approaching. I was driving the normal 65MPH but I was also driving by road cones thinking to myself "I see the cones, but I still haven't passed any speed signs". The cop pulls me over and I was basically like, "Sir, I see the cones but I was waiting for the speed limit to change and I haven't seen any signs for the past mile or so". He was nice about it let me go.

I got my first ticket at 69 in a 55 (was actually going 75 at one point in my diamante) got 3-4 points I think and because the place i got the car inspected wrote the wrong VIN on the sticker he ripped it off and wrote me a ticket for that. dude was a dick... also my wife was going 95 in a 65 dunno why but she got a couple points and a 150+ ticket too.

56 in a 25, school zone, cop was an asshole gave me speeding, loud exhaust, and no front plate, got it knocked down to a 4 point ticket, 239 fine, and dropped all the other tickets.

I got a 45 in a 25 driving my vr4 home the day I bought it

But that was almost 6 years ago now, its been 4 years without a speeding ticket in my car now though

Mine have not been so bad, but i had a friend that got a 111mph in a 50mph in a pos GTI, his ticket was $1105 i believe, it was a little over 1100 anyway
