You're late to the party. The law has been repealed. The fines wouldn't have affected you anyways unless you were a permanent VA resident.

I had the same Statey give me 3 tickets for exhaust in a 6 month period, and threatened me that he would impound my car the next time he pulls me over. So a grand total of 13 NON-MOVING violations in a 12 month run. Thanks VA

The reason that non state residents are not eligble for the massive fines is that the VA Legislature decided that it would be to difficult to collect from out of staters,..........on the other hand the residents of VA are easy to collect from.

These fines and points are ridiculous,............public safety is supposed to be their goal,..............not larger coffers.

Too bad, you have highly trained law enforcement officers that want to catch bad guys relegated to a de facto tax collection unit of the VA and local govts.

The issue they dont see coming is that everyone is going to start going to court to fight the charge instead of paying the formerly nominal fee. Just wait until 30 percent of tickets written show up for court instead of the normal 10 percent or so.

Ever gone to court ? Long right ? Just wait.

a friend of mine just got popped with a reckless driving ticket...............56 in a 35MPH zone................6 points and I think a 750.00 fine.................he is going to fight it.........and because of good record and just over 20,..........he had a shot to get a reduction.
