Ok. My problem is following:
When starting up an engine everything is alright, but as soon as I rev around 1800 and over there is some fast repeating tapping sound behind dash/firewall. First I thought it was coming from gauge cluster, but when I tried the revs without cluster the noise still seemed to come from same place without any changes. Before the noise started I installed my boostgauge by making a way to engine through the rubber sealed hole above pedals and used T-pipe to get boost reading from the hose coming from back of the plenum. The sound started right after the installing with first start.. I just can`t seem to realize if it`s just coinsidence or related to my boostgauge installation. Any ideas? |

No no no.. this sound is more rapid than lifter tick. I`Ve seen some threads with issues because of boost solenoid, lifter ticks etc.
But my problem is related only with rpm`s more than 1800 and up... no matter if it`s cold or warm, minutes or hours of driving.. the sound is constant rapid loud clicking and always starts at 1800 rpm and stays the same to the redline. (bad english, yeayea...) |

ticking noise coming from firewall area under acceleration
Heres one for a boost control solenoid which is the normal culprit Your right, woodpecker doesn't bring it up anymore. Don't know where it went, but I was going to suggest the boost control solenoid, if you don't think thats it then I would start searching for ticking or clicking and seeing what other solenoids people have had issues with If it does it both warm and cold I'm at a loss.Good luck and let us know what you find! |
