nobody was really making sports cars around then. everything moved to cars like civics or just used late model cars.

if the 3000gt got canceled because it wasnt successful than neither was any japanese sports car. hell even american cars went away except for the vette, viper and rustang. Gm halted f-body production in 02 and you cant tell me camaros and trans-ams were not successful

nothing lasts forever

Well considering no Rx7s were made then, and no 300zx's, and it being the Supra's last year in production... I'd say a lot. lol

I see so some 80% drop off in sales from 91 to 98 had nothing at all to do with the model being cancelled?

Well as previously mentioned, the market switched gears. Car manufacturers decided that cheaper econoboxes (civics, mirages, corollas) were better selling than $50k sports cars.

What about the other numbers for the car, like it pulling 1.5Gs in corners? 1.5 Gs in a stock car is not impressive? the best a 911 turbo does is 0.98

Why get hung up on its weight? A bugatti Veyron is heavy, a VR4 is heavy, a M3 is heavy, a audi R8 is heavy yet these cars are still pretty good, so again why flame a car you've never driven?

You dont have to like the car but at least drive it first give the thing a chance simple.

1.5G's are most likely due to freaking great rubber etc etc, my points are due to the fact that new cars just don't feel like your driving them..much like in the other GTR V's whatever threads, and while the R35 is heavy and the quickest ever, I have no doubt that a similarly configured R32 would be much quicker (same displ engine), and I can't see it being all that easy to lighten the R35 compared to the R32...of course it's early days yet
