Default VR4 mentioned in GTR article hehe

An interesting writer to say the least, Ezra Dyer is his name... his writeups are usually based upon eccentric roadtrips in new cars, mostly exotic cars. Kind of a tool, but I usually laugh at what he writes

On track or road, GT-R is greater - The Boston Globe

Fears that the GT-R might be the second coming of the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 - a '90s-era twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive dreadnought that died as bloated as Elvis - should be put to rest. Yes, the GT-R is a four-seat coupe with a twin-turbo V-6 and all-wheel drive. And it is loaded with treats like a paddle-shifted automated manual gearbox; an electronically adjustable suspension; and a choice among three levels of intervention by the electronic stability control.Continued..

That's not the one I was expecting. I'm sure it's new.

And worse.

he has a point but its bullshit. and heres why the GTR is a skyline, it will automatically have HUGE aftermarket support and therefore be a legend.

They are already modding the hell out of these with huge gains. the tunning world is evolving and getting more advanced, hes still stuck in the stone age.

Plus their is a whole world outside of the US, so if its not a huge success here it will dominate everywhere else.

The 3000GT wasnt as successful as the GTR because MITSUBISHI didnt pursue an active racing campaign with it. They were too busy racing evos. They should have built a couple 3000GTs and raced them in JGTC even if it didnt win the fact that they did it and showed that the car had racing pedigree would have made it get more support.

Look at the Supra and skyline, both were used alot by toyota and nissan as racing cars.

Racing sells nissan understands this so the GTR will be successful

There are millions of skylines in AU...it's rare to have one modded past ~450kw though.

the parts for the skylines here are as cheap as the parts for the VR4 over there.

shame no new nissan beats the old R32 for a drivers car though...new stuff is too ugly to weighty and too automated.

The sun is not exploding, nor does it have more gravitational mass as compared to a man-made nuclear bomb.

Truly, these are great times for science.

never driven a single GTR, thats why im saying you shouldn't flame the hell out of it till you actually drive it. It might be a good car. its the same criticism i use on 3S bashers, why bash a car because of a few magazine pics and spec numbers?

What about the other numbers for the car, like it pulling 1.5Gs in corners? 1.5 Gs in a stock car is not impressive? the best a 911 turbo does is 0.98

Why get hung up on its weight? A bugatti Veyron is heavy, a VR4 is heavy, a M3 is heavy, a audi R8 is heavy yet these cars are still pretty good, so again why flame a car you've never driven?

You dont have to like the car but at least drive it first give the thing a chance simple.
