I have a 92 VR4 with 95K miles on it.
My tour/sport light is stuck on Solid. Unlike every other post I have read regarding this issue, they do not blink, alternate or go off. They stay on solid from the time I start the car until I take the key out of the ignition. About a year ago the ECS lights were blinking tour and sport. I replaced the two front strut harnesses which fixed the problem. Now that the lights are solid, I checked the front and rear strut covers to make sure the wires were ok. They all looked to be in excellent condition. So of course, I thought it was the ECS computer. I took it out and opened it. Leaky caps all over the place. Sent it out Foreign Computer to have it repaired. Got it back yesterday, reconnected it and nothing has changed. So in sum: 1) I checked all strut covers for broken strut cover wires 2) repaired the ECS computer and 3) disconnected the battery for like an hour in an attempt to "reset" the ECU. 4) did the Strut "push" test on each strut, they seem fine. NOTHING has worked. So what else could it be? My struts seem fine, nice and solid. Keep in mind the lights are NOT blinking, they are on solid. Anyone have any ideas?

I guess I could check the switch next. Pull it out and try to manually trigger sport and tour mode. That is not a bad idea.
I have not tried to pull an error code yet though. I wonder if something else could be wrong with the ESC unit perhaps. Its possible that when the caps leaked they damaged a resistor which was never replaced by Foreign Auto. I think getting my hands on another working ECS would be ideal but I have no idea how I can get that done. Maybe I can see if Foreign Auto would send me aknown working one to test out? |

Mine does the same thing and I replaced the caps in the ECS comp. and checked the switch but II have a 91 N/A R/T And I knew the front struts were shot so I replaced them with one from an es but the light is still solid.
