Yeah I have one (must-have tool IMO) in case they start to strip. Thankfully I didnt need to use it. Tools that require using a hammer are a last resort when it comes to my throttlebody lol.

I'd put some loctite or somthing on those upon reinstalling them. Just think of what would happen if they were to back out!

EPDM rubber will degrade quickly when it contacts oil/fuel. Also the upper temp limit is 250degrees (not sure how hot the TB gets though). I suspect that they are EPDM because it is very good for use with water, and it is the most economical. If the box makes no mention of the composition... most likely EPDM.
Hey Red,

I hear what your saying and I know all about the importance of having proper O-rings. It's difficult trying to get specialty O-rings where I am, and I assume that goes for a lot of other people too. I guess I could track down some good quality O-rings if I really tried. The Home Depot #7's were mentioned in previous threads so that's what I searched for. let me know if you can share your source for those high quality O-rings, I'd really like to get some(2) for when the #7's start leaking.

Have your pressure tested yet? I think something got lost in this mod. Origonaly the #7 oring is supposed to be put into the center of the existing stock shaft seals (the metal outside of the stock seal). If you just put the #7 oring in without first putting it into the stock trottle body shaft seals they have too much space around them and leak.

The #8 oring from home depot works without having to use the stock shaft seals.

My TB isn't leaking with just the #7's in there, at least not noticeablely. I Pressure tested and used soapy water around the TB shaft to check it. No gurgly sounds and no signs of bubbles. But I do have another larger leak beneath the EGR somewhere and because of that I've only been pressure testing to 10 psi. Thanks for the heads-up, I will make an edit to the first post about the #8 O-rings and about using the #7's inside the stock seals.

After thinking about it a little, maybe the O-rings I used were actually #8 and not #7. Since I got them from the assortment pack(Pic attached) I don't know which O-rings are which in the package. But I do know that as of right now they are a snug fit because the when I step on the gas pedal I have to first break the tension that the O-rings have on the TB shaft before the shaft will turn. So the O-ring assortment pack(Pic attached) should have the proper size O-rings, I'm just not sure if they're #7 or #8. I assumed that they were #7, and yes I now what happens when you A$$-U-ME .
