Taking apart the 99 vr-4 over the weekend

Over this weekend me and Jason stripped the engine bay of a perfectly running 99 vr-4. Just wow! Everything on that car pretty much looked new... no ceased bolts, nuts, etc...

Starting out on Saturday morning...


Car is still almost in one piece


Look at this exhaust... it has no rust on it



And as the day goes by...


Ready to pull the engine out...

And it's out!




Cleaning up the engine bay...



And it was around 8 pm at that point and we called it a day...

Today we started early, I went to get the casters for the dolly while Jason continued to work on the car...


Fabing up the dolly for the front subframe (so nice to have a fab shop!)

And the dolly is done!



... and... touch down!



Engine bay starts to look really empty


Steering column is out


Jason is working on pulling the engine harness out while I am slacking and taking pictures

And it's completely stripped! Mission accomplished



So it took us about 15 hours total to get everything out... the went really fast... I was really excited to work on this car!

This kind of hurts my heart. Seeing a perfectly clean 99 VR4 being stripped down isn't easy on the eyes. If I ever had a 99 VR4, I would keep it as is. Those cars are rare and amazing.

What are you guys doing to it? I applaud your efforts never the less.
