Default Tach Problems Need Help ASAP

Ok i just did all of the thing that there was to install the tach but my gauge is not responding to the rpm's i spliced the wire from the tach to pin 101 on the ecu but it is still not working . i pretty sure i did everything fine but not sure any ideas . thanks

i connected both the stock tach "the one on the car" and the tach "the aftermarket one with the shiftlight" together was i supposed to do that or am i only suppose connect the tach "aftermarket one"and disengauge the stock tach on the car . please help? Thanks
