Hey guys so I know this has been covered and I read the thread thats been on for years on here just figured I would share my story with the rest. Earlier this year I had a transfer case lock up at a very slow speed of maybe 15-20mph which I was lucky I must say cause even that was scary. I called a Mitsubishi dealership here in M.A walpole and talked to a guy told him the story of how the previous owner before me had this recall "done". Well it looks to me as the dealership put false info in the documents as they just replaced the seals not the whole unit, the receipt says the whole unit being done along with the brake lines recall, now this was done just 25K miles ago. The guy said he will call me back the next day, Today I get a call from the manager and he tells me that he wants me to bring my car in and he wants to look at it first, he than also adds that they only warranty the parts and labor for 12 months and the car has no open recalls. We than got into a argument and he would not let me speak one word, well I decide to listen to him as he wouldnt let me speak normally anyway. After his whole long speech I Told him I am not bringing the car in until I get some kind of an answer and his response was you have 3 options.
1. Bring the car in and have it inspected for damage and than go from there (keep in mind I already put in a nother good T case in there and car is driving but I want the old one replaced as the one in the car i used). 2. He was being rude and said I can call my Mitsu Rep and tell him Mr. customer informed me that his T case has failed and I would like to install a new one for him again in a rude sarcastic voice. 3. He said "As you know there are plenty of other dealerships around M.A you can go there if this is not good for you" I mean WTF they should cover this as much as possible, he also acts as if he as never heard of this recall freaking every 3000gt or stealth could have this recall done and still faily in 20K or 50K or 100K miles. Anyone recommend any ideas and should they cover this as many times as needed as I am reading mixed opinions. |

Its a recall so warranty does not apply. Mitsu did not update or change the design if it fails again they need to replace it again. BUt, if the dealer is being a pain about it I'd suggest calling other local dealers.

They are being assholes I cant believe it wtf do they care, and the guy wouldnt let me speak so I will be making sure the owners and manager there know what kind of customer service they are giving people. I do a good amount of buisness with that dealership buying parts and the guy was a ass. I hate it how they first want to get your car in than they want to charge you for the labor. They charge you to just pick at their nose those assholes. I will call another dealership, another thing possied me off is he was I might need a lawyer.... its like go screw yourself ahhh I am pissed sorry just venting. I though that it needs to be done as many times as needed, you see they will find a reason to not cover something no matter what.
Funny story for everyone who might own a maxima 2005-2007 on the forums here I took my father 2006 maxima in to Nissan because my mother blew the tire out driving on the highway she didnt hit anything it just blew out. Well The manager said that it will be 320$ with tax to get it replaced I went to NTB figured it would be cheaper and the guy says same thing 300$, than a friend of mine tells me there is a recall on them and We get 4 brand new tires for that car all free 1300$ worth of work FREE. Depends who you know and how good the people treat you. I have noticed anyone who does work on cars are a**holes sorry to say its my experience. When I open my shop I will give the best customer service possible because thats the face of your buissness. I will never go to that mitsu dealership for anythng anymore, so over a 800$ part they lost a potential customer who would buy parts and possibly a EVO. |

Well This one has a slight leak as well so I guess they could replace it but I was going to do this anyway just didnt want to do extra work...... I guess its the best idea because than I can keep a good T case just in case and replace the seals it seems like its wet around the area but I also just filled it so it could be the stuff that came out when I was filling to the top.
