That is a 1 1/4 inch elbow.

As far as the sound when vented to atmosphere, it sort of sounds like the rfl.

Sounds a little delayed or almost like there is 2 blow offs? Did you hook up that side line? If not you should do it.

Good write up. This is what's going on my car. If I go open to atmosphere do I need the anti-stall kit?

Yea the anti-stall kit you will most likely need. The valve was designed to run closed loop as the valve actual stays open during vac conditions essentially creating a big leak when ran open. That could cause a rough idle/stalling. The work around would be to tighten the spring a bit so the valve will stay completely closed under vac. The trade off is the valve will probably react a little slower which shouldn't be a poblem as long as you are not surging. But if you can get away with the anti-stall kit and not have any issues then cool deal.

In the vid below you can hear the wrx have a hard time idling when venting to atmosphere. How is your idle stealthlabel?

Yea. I'd just get a k&n with a 1.25 inch id fitting.

LOL and it's not that bad to use all 3 vac fittings. Just run one line from the plenum and T at the bov. Then one from the y pipe nipple.
