i just took my stealth on a road trip this weekend...I currently have the stock ecs suspension on it with intrax springs...i got the springs years ago to eliminate horrible wheel gap on my car, however, i'm getting older now, and the ride comfort is annoying me...especially since I live in PA, where the roads are terrible...
i was thinking of getting coil overs for it..i'd return to stock, but I can't deal with the wheel gap.plus I know the ecs will take a crap sooner or later. ..i like the car with a lowered stance...i'm looking for some nice adjustable coil overs...i'm more concerned with ride comfort than handling..i don't ever plan on taking the car to a track or anything..it's a non turbo, so it's not exactly lightning fast...i basically use the car for local ripping around on back roads and the occasional long distance trip...so i'd like something that will keep descent handling but give me some better ride comfort..the intrax is brutal.... any suggestions..i don't know a whole lot about suspension... |

Dude I am almost 28 and I am far from old.
As for your question. Ride comfort and coilovers dont go hand in hand. I love my coilovers and the ride is far from terrible. Others might not agree to this testament but its my opinion. Coilovers might be only marginally better in ride comfort because they are valved for the spring rate, etc.

I haven't seen any coil overs with an emphasis on ride comfort. With my K sports, most concrete roads I end up feeling like a bobble head doll. I'm ok with the bigger bumps here and there, but the undulation on concrete roads really gets my neck on trips over an hour.

Yes. Coilovers are fully adjustable. I can drop my car even more than it sits now. It has 32 dampening settings.
For every day driving it stays on the softest settings. I have a very high tolerance so I am a bit skewed. I have no issues with the ride of driving my car on PA roads. The most uncofortable road I dealt with was a section of a NJ Interstate (cant remember which of the top of my head), where the expansion joints were over emphasized. It royally sucked. But for comparison the first time I was ever on that road was in my TSi with stock suspension and I thought something was broke it rode so rough. For best results find someone in your area with coilovers and have them take you for a ride, |

With coilovers, I'm not going to suggest a brand or spring rate because that all depends on your needs, budget, weight and distribution.
But coilovers with custom rate springs will fit what you want. There are also ECS strut/spring combos that provide the ride you want, but will not provide the drop of Intrax springs, but do make a huge improvement in looks. Eibach is on the comfort end of the spectrum opposite Intrax, with the various Tein springs in between.

I have no idea if they make them for 3000GTs though. They do make the Variant 3 coilovers for 3Ks and I've heard they're among the best ride quality/handling compromise out there for coilovers.
