suspension question

so this might sound odd. ive always heard from the domestic guys that your suspension should be made softer when you drag race. they always said it helps during a launch. our cars seem to bounce a lot. but cars equally as fast squat.

ive been watching a ton of drag racing videos and it seems 3s' are all pretty low but other cars arent as much.

does anyone really run a soft suspension setup?

maybe im nuts.. couldnt tell ya.
