Default Street Tuning

Little tip, get your car running half assed well from street tuning BEFORE you take it to be dyno tuned.

This is going to eliminate a TON of labor spent in the shop just fixing bullshit like sparkplugs and boost leaks.

Plus, when they are done if the car runs worse than it did you know that they are responsible and they cannot say that your car was a basketcase when you brought it in and that you are lucky they could get it to run at all.

You CAN get a decent street tune pretty easily and anyone with a modified fuel car should at least know the basics of tuning their system.

I figured that would be pretty obvious thought to get the car running halfway decent, before you drop it off at a shop.

yeah, but lots of people don't and half the time they part out or give up because of it.

Rep.

If you can't tune your own AFR on the street (at least get it conservative), you shouldn't own a modified car. Period.

EMS <> Piggyback

Besides, you should understand the AEM too, otherwise you are depending on someone else not to blow your car up.

Only a few people that are worthy of that amount of trust in the 3/s world.

I thought this was obvious advice and what everyone does? I know that people do, but I don't know of anyone specifically who doesn't do a basic street tune before hitting the dyno.

Anyway, this thread seems obvious but maybe it's just me.
