Got in my vr-4 yesterday to give it a start. I put the key in, gave it a turn, and not a thing happens. I thought it was the battery and had it charged and tested yesterday. The battery was fine, all of the dash lights come on and all other electrical items work. The engine doesn't even turnover. Any suggestions?

the problem is related to your starting system, possible causes:
1. ignition switch - unlikely. 2. starter solenoid - possible. 3. starter engagement - possible but less likely, no noise. 4. wiring, basically power to starter - probable. 5. anti-theft if so equipped, clutch pedal position switch or other more esoteric cause - unlikely. thankfully our starting system is fairly basic so the potential causes are limited. i would recommend fixing the relay issue per the post above, it doesn't take too long and is fairly straightforward. that doesn't work, it's good preventative medicine and you've eliminated it as a potential cause.
