How big of a job is it to remove the pan? I looked under there and it appears that I just need to remove the crossmember, the large sheld looking things on each side with the big bolts in them, then the bolts all around the pan itself. Is this correct or is there more to it?

Also, How hard is it to replace the pickup tube and screen as well? Anyone have a roundabout price for these parts as well?

Drop the down pipe, starter, TC, and easyest if you drop that crossmember (its just 6 bolts. Then your oil return lines have to come be lossened, then pan. Its really not that bad.

Nope not that bad just kind of a PITA to clean the pan and make sure you get all the gasket resedue off. If its stock and has never came off before it should be easier. I believe the pickup tube is ~=30 bucks or so from the dealer.

As long as you already have the car in the air supported by stands you can use a jack on the engines oil pan just to support the engine from stooping down and destroying the other mounts. But always stick some rags on the jack to distribute the weight evently.

I supported my engine by the oil pan when I did my 120K, however I had a piece of 3/4 plywood under the entire flatside of the pan, it was okay, real pain because I had the tranny out too.
