Default Which Spark Plug Wires to Run?

So, I have been searching and searching for which spark plug wires to use. I've read the MSD wires that are $145 from 3SX are what lots of people run, but I'm not upgrading the ignition system. I plan on doing a spark plug change with Iridiums and I am confused on what wires to use. I know the stock are fine and have worked for 100+ thousand miles, but what are advantages to running bigger wires? Suggestions? Thanks guys.

Stock wires work just fine.

If your really want to spend the money a set of MSD can be had for cheaper from one of the other venders. Count on at least $15 for shipping from 3sx on top of the already high $145 from 3sx. Priced Matched Parts is running a sale right now on them. MSD 8.5mm plug wires - $105 shipped. Not bad at all!

The benefits are supposed to be a better/stronger spark since there is less resistance. A new coil pack helps with that too.

Well, I've heard the iridiums give the spark of copper and the longevity of platinum...best of both worlds. But as far as wires, I don't see why I just wouldn't use stock. The spark plugs and wires aren't a big source of power (obviously, they are what makes the engine run, but I mean in an upgrade-way)

spark plug wires need to be changed every once in a while. i would say at least every 180k if you stay stock. heat will cause the wires to increase resistance and will cause your ignition system to perform badly. most people upgrade because it's not that expensive and dresses up the engine bay. MSD's are widely used because they're proven to have the lowest resistance per foot in wires available to us. the next would be the Accel Thundersport wires.

you have a non turbo, so you really don't need to upgrade unless you plan on going with forced induction or nitrous. less resistance in wires means faster, stronger spark at the electrode.

3SX also offers MSD Plug Wires - Custom 3S for less than half that.

Are they really all that different from Spark Plug Wires MSD 32709?

Same 8.5 superconductor wire. Just different spark plug boots. They work just as well.
