thats called carbon tracking. it happens when the spark travels down the side of the plug due to a poor seal from the plug wire. you need to replace the plug that is in the cylinder thats happening on and put new wires on. as you found out you cant just change the plugs. if you put a new wire set on without replacing the plug it will happen again and the plug wire will be toast again.

That makes sense, i've never seen that happen before. I was stumped.

makes sense but let me get this straight: down the side of the plug... you mean i'm getting a spark outside of the combustion chamber? between the wire terminal and the head? wow i never knew this could happen.

Sure would explain a lot though... but what i don't get though is that since i had the injectors cleaned and replaced the damaged plug, everything's been going fine. I'm using the same old wires. Like i said before it's been well above 500 miles since that happened.

why not go afternarket instead of oem wires? u'll get better performance and it's not all that expensive.

I have thought about it. Problem is not cost, but shipping cos the stuff's not available in my country so i have to have it shipped in.

I have a few things i wanna do in the near future so i'm probably gonna get the parts in one big order...

-60 K kit from 3sx
-wires
-motor mounts
-some other stuff...

What plug wires do you recommend for a stock vr-4 ? NGK? are they really better than the oem ones?
