Don't know if I jumped timing or what. Over the past few days the oil gauge at idle keeps getting lower. Today on the way home it would sit around the 3rd lowest ticket on the stock gauge. Normal driving around 3k rpms the rear bank takes on a deeper sound. Well so it sounds like it does while in the car.
The logs attached below are from a few minutes ago, sitting idle with a few slow revs. Any suggestions? The SoSoLog.zip is the last log I have prior to how it is running now from two weeks ago. Oh yea 92 VR4 123k miles. Posted this in the AWD forums but I'm not sure how many people visit that section, so I decided to post it here too. ![]()

I would advise attaching an aftermarket oil pressure gauge (even if its only temporary).
Anything under 12 PSI at warm idle would indicate pump problems OR bearing issues.. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't sound good... Bob.

Ok I checked the timing marks. I was able to align the cams like so
![]() BuT... The crankshaft timing mark is that the notch/cut on the top of the crankshaft pulley? I wasn't able to locate the letter "T" on the timing advance plate. Even with the 4 cams in their correct positions up top, the notch/cut on the crankshaft pulley was not dead center. Pushed the car back to make the notch in the center, doing this puts all four cams off by 4 teeth (cams rolled forward 4 teeth putting the marks on the cams in front of their marks on the covers.) |
