Side note, when the mas sensor is removed the car will idle fine at 1500 rpm, when the accelerator is pushed it will make a popping noise. If the mas sensor is left plugged in it will idle rough then finally choke. Im guessing its still a boost leak since i cant keep 12-15 lbs in the system with the pressure tester. Also when the mas sensor was unplugged and the car was revved it kicked back some gas or oil.

No, not yet, no one really gave me a definitive answer as of yet, i bought a smoker but havent found the time to diagnose it, i was thinking about just shelling out a few hundred or more to someone here on the forums with experience in running down boost leaks and maybe replacing my tb. Open to suggestions

Have you tried checking the PTU, TPS, or see if caps are good on ECU. I'm trying to do those same things to see if any are causing my problems.

First of all those plugs in the engine bay have nothing to do with your problem. The plug closest to the firewall is for you windshield washer bottle pump. The other plugs are diagnostic. One is to ground out your timing, one is to jump the fuel pump for testing purposes. The other I can't specifically remember but it has nothing to do with your issues. The plug on the back of the plenum is for an aftermarket fuel management system and appears to be a temperature sensor used for something like a VPC or an emanage. Also you have an adapter harness between your ecu and the harness plugs. This also tells me that the previous owner had some kind of aftermarket engine management system. pull that adapter harness out and put the plugs directly in the ecu. That will eliminate your cut wires and I am glad to see the previous owner did not hack the factory wiring. If this does not make sense let me know. I am thinking that removing the adapter harness may fix your problems. If not I would pressure test and go from there. Good luck!

Anyone know what mounts to the left of the windshield wiper motor. I have a bolt indent in the firewall but missing whatever might connect to some of these wire connectors.

You might be missing a bracket or something that held a plug in place, but you are not missing anything critical. Did you remove the adapter harness between the plugs and your ecu? That will probably fix most of your problems.

The tb gasket is installed the correct way but it sounds like there is a lot of air coming out around the tb. Any usual suspects in that area? I cant diagnose any more with the soapy water or just going by sound because nothing is happening with the soapy water and its hard to pinpoint the sound even when its dead quiet. (sounds like under or on the side of the tb)

I can pressure the system to 7psi, no further, and then it leaks out within 15 seconds.
Can you tell me which side (front or back) of the TB has the tab on the gasket? (I couldn't see one in your picture)....

My son and I discovered last night that his was on backwards and his idle was all over the map (but mostly high). [we've had his plenum off at least a dozen times and somehow we must have switched it last time and didn't see it].
